So Wizards recently dropped the new Commander Legends: Battle for Baldur’s Gate, a new Magic: The Gathering Commander set. This new set is a crossover set with another popular Wizards brand, Dungeons & Dragons, their second crossover after last year’s Dungeons & Dragons: Adventures in the Forgotten Realms set.
So what’s new?
Magic: The Gathering Commander Legends: Battle for Baldur’s Gate

The new Commander Legends: Battle for Baldur’s Gate is made specifically to be drafted and comes with a new set of rules. The new set now allows players to include two or more of the same cards in a single deck which breaks the Singleton rule of traditional Commander play.
Backgrounds, a new sort of enchantment, contains elements of roleplay taken from D&D. Legendary Background cards provide the story of how the player’s commander got to where they are currently.
Each one provides a benefit to the player’s commander. Most of the time, this benefit takes the shape of a new ability or a boost to the player’s commander’s power and/or toughness.
Initiative, a new keyword ability (that veteran Dungeons & Dragons players should be familiar with), allows three substantial bonuses: To begin, anytime a player takes the initiative, they travel to Undercity (Undercity is a new dungeon card).
Second, at the start of their upkeep, the player holding the initiative returns to Undercity. Third, if you take the initiative, certain cards in the set improve.

The second Commander Legends set sees the reintroduction of Rulebook frames, in keeping with the narrative of Baldur’s Gate. Every Legendary Creature card is framed in the style of the Dungeons & Dragons Monster Manual, recalling the traditional handbook aesthetic cherished by tabletop gaming fans.

Borderless frames are also available for Mythic Rare Planeswalkers, artefacts, and monsters, including five new Mythic Elder Dragons, each of which embodies a colour and a powerful ability.
Draft Boosters, Set Boosters, and Collector Boosters are available for Commander Legends: Battle for Baldur’s Gate, as well as Precon Commander Decks, a Prerelease bundle, and a unique Commander Legends Bundle with a giant D20.

Players will be able to own a customised branded dice case with every purchase of a collection booster box in selected Southeast Asian countries (Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines).
The dice case, created to commemorate the set’s release, is available while supplies last at participating WPN stores and online (Singapore only).
