The new New ESL One Malaysia 2022 tournament has just been announced by ESL Gaming, marking its return to the esports scene in Malaysia. The tournament will commence on 23rd to 28th August with the last weekend of the tournament played in front of a live audience at the Arena of Stars in Resorts World Genting.

The event is ESL One’s first return to Southeast Asia since ESL One Genting 2018 and the first Dota 2 competition with a live audience in the region since late 2019. It will be separate from the Dota Pro Circuit and will allow teams to hone their skills before competing in The International 11 for a share of the USD400,000 (RM1,757,600) total prize pool.
The group stage, which begins on August 23, will feature 12 of the world’s best Dota 2 teams competing in a best-of-two round-robin format. They will compete for one of the eight available playoff spots while playing in a LAN environment.
The playoff stage will then take place in front of a live audience at Resorts World Genting’s Arena of Stars in a best of three double-elimination format, with the grand final decided in a best of five format.
ESL One Malaysia 2022 ticket sales will begin on Friday, 10th June at 3PM Malaysian time. There are a variety of day and weekend tickets available, with prices ranging from RM69 to RM399. Visit the ESL website for more information on each ticket type and how to purchase one.
