Sony has just introduced two new in-car media receivers, the XAV-AX6000 and the XAV-AX4000. Both in-car media receivers now contain features such as fully wireless smartphone connectivity, allowing users to use voice control for navigation or music playback while driving.

What features come with the XAV-AX6000 and the XAV-AX4000?

Both the XAV-AX6000 and the XAV-AX4000 use the user’s phone’s Wi-Fi and GPS connection to allow users to navigate, communicate and play music using voice control. Furthermore, users can make calls, access music, send and receive messages and navigate via Apple CarPlay‘s integration with Sony’s new in-car media receivers.

For Android users, both receivers also feature support for Android Auto. Just say “Hey Google” or press the voice button on either of the receivers to connect to Google’s services.

As for the receivers’ displays, the XAV-AX6000 touts a 6.95-inch Bezel-less Flush Surface Display with Capacitive Touch Screen while the XAV-AX4000 comes with a 6.95-inch Anti-glare Sleek Touch Screen.

Sony’s new in-car media receivers also come with HDMI connectivity, LDAC connectivity and FLAC support. They also feature extensive sound customisations with 5 addressable channels, a 14-band EQ and a 3-zone crossover. There’s also a Quick Wake Up feature which means that the receivers are ready to go as soon as users start their cars.

Both receivers also support rear-view cameras and include adjustable parking guidelines. Other features include customisable wallpapers, a USB Type-C port, gold-plated 3-out terminals and a 5V high-voltage pre-out (only available on the XAV-AX6000).
