Sony has just expanded upon its Linkbuds Series with the unveiling of the Sony Linkbuds S. The Linkbuds S offer features like ANC and others including Sony’s “sensing technology and partner collaboration”.

The new Sony Linkbuds S is one of the lighter pairs of earphones you can buy, weighing just 4.8 grammes. It has also been designed with comfort in mind as it features an ergonomic design that can fit human ears well without causing potential ear pain.

The Linkbuds S comes with Adaptive Sound Control that helps adjust ambient sound settings depending on the user’s external environment. The Integrated Processor V1 helps with noise-cancelling, reduces distortion and improves general audio quality. The earphones also pack in a 5mm driver with punchy bass and clear vocals.

To further up their game in terms of sound, the Sony Linkbuds S uses Sony’s own LDAC codec which allows access to High-Resolution Audio Wireless. The use of DSEE Extreme 4, which upscales digital music files in real-time, will restore the user’s music to high-quality sound.

Sony Linkbuds S can last up to 6 hours with ANC turned on with another 14 hours when using the charging case. The earphones also feature IPX4 water resistance, Google’s Fast Pair, Speak-to-Chat and are compatible with both Google Assistant and Alexa.

Sony also partnered with Pokemon GO developer, Niantic to develop an AR game to be used with the Linkbuds S. Users can discover what the Sony Linkbuds S is fully capable of audibly when they play the game “Ingress” with the earphones.
