Dell has announced the new Alienware m17 R5 gaming laptop which Dell proudly heralds as the “world’s most powerful 17” AMD Advantage laptop”.
As the title suggests, the m17 R5 is an AMD Advantage laptop which means that it comes with AMD Ryzen 6000 series processors, AMD Radeon RX 6000 series graphics, and new AMD Smart Technologies. Though which Ryzen CPU model is unclear, Dell has made it clear that, in terms of graphics, the laptop is packing an AMD Radeon RX 6850M XT 12GB GDDR6 GPU.
As mentioned above, the m17 R5 comes with AMD Smart Technologies. This includes AMD SmartShift Max, AMD SmartAccess Graphics, AMD Smart Access Memory and AMD FreeSync Premium.
The Alienware m17 R5 comes equipped with a 17.3-inch FHD (1920 x 1080) 480Hz 3ms panel that supports AMD FreeSync and NVIDIA G-SYNC with Advanced Optimus. The m17 R5 also offers a UHD (3840 x 2160) 120Hz 3ms display option. Dell says that both these display options are also available for the Alienware x17 R2 laptop.
Alienware m17 R5 price and availability
Funnily enough, Dell has not yet revealed the price and availability of the Alienware m17 R5. Dell did, however, reveal that the Alienware x17 R2 is available for purchase now with a retail price of RM12,099.
