After weeks of teasing, ASUS has finally lifted the lid off the ROG Phone 6 Series which consists of the ROG Phone 6 and 6 Pro. Both devices were shown off during their recent ROG Phone 6: For Those Who Dare virtual launch event.
ROG Phone 6 Series Launched

As expected from a beastly gaming smartphone series, the ROG Phone 6 Series comes equipped with the new Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. ASUS says that the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 has 50% more performance power as compared to the Snapdragon 888 SoC on the ROG Phone 5. There’s also up to 18 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512 GB of storage.
A powerful processor will need a capable cooling system to match its awesomeness and the new ROG Phone has just that with its 360° CPU cooling technology, a 30% larger vapour chamber and 85% larger graphite sheets. The device also has a centred-CPU design that helps dissipate heat from the core much better.
The new ROG Phone series also comes with a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with an adaptive 165Hz refresh rate and HDR10+. The display also has a whopping 720Hz touch-sampling rate and 23ms ultra-low touch latency. That’s not all as the display is tuned by Pixelworks for maximum colour accuracy.

As with every phone that came before it, the ROG Phone 6 Series comes AirTrigger 6 which has been upgraded with features that gamers will surely enjoy. The AirTrigger 6 now comes with support for various gestures that include Dual Action, Press and Lift, and Gyroscope Aiming.
The ROG Phone 6 Series also touts the GameFX audio system, a front-firing symmetrical seven-magnet dual speakers with sound optimised by Swedish company Dirac. There’s also Dirac Virtuo spatial audio solution on board or a more immersive stereo sound as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack.
As for the camera department, the ROG Phone 6 Series comes equipped with a triple camera setup that utilises the Sony IMX766 sensor. The triple camera consists of a 50MP main wide-angle camera, a 13MP ultrawide camera and a macro camera. There’s also a 12 MP selfie camera at the front.
All this is powered by a massive 6,000mAh battery with support for 65W HyperCharge fast charging. The battery also comes with battery care features that help extend the lifespan as well as the general performance of the battery.

The ROG Phone 6 will be available in either Phantom Black or Storm White colours, Aura RGB lighting on the back and features up to 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512 GB of storage. The 6 Pro on the other hand will come exclusively come in Storm White with a colour ROG Vision mini-display on the back, 18 GB of LPDDR5 RAM memory, and 512 GB of storage.
