Santa Monica Studio has announced that the highly anticipated God of War Ragnarok will arrive on PS4 and PS5 this coming 9th November. The game is set three years after the events of 2018’s God of War and sees both Kratos and Atreus attempt to prevent Ragnarok. The studio also debuted a new trailer featuring Kratos and Atreus.
God of War Ragnarok editions revealed
Along with the announcement, PlayStation and Santa Monica Studio also revealed the different editions of the game that players can purchase and the pre-order bonuses. There will be four editions coming out; the Standard Edition, the Digital Deluxe Edition, the Collector’s Edition and the Jötnar Edition.
The Standard Edition of God of War Ragnarok will include just the base game and will be available physically and digitally for RM249 for the PS4 version and RM299 for the PS5 version. Those who purchase the PS4 version and wish to upgrade to the PS5 version can do so for RM50.
As for the Digital Deluxe Edition, players will receive the base game for the PS4 and PS5 and a few other added bonuses. These bonuses include:
- Kratos Darkdale Armor
- Atreus Darkdale Attire
- Darkdale Blades Handles for the Blades of Chaos
- Darkdale Axe Grip for the Leviathan Axe
- Official Game Digital Soundtrack
- Dark Horse Digital Mini Artbook
- Avatar Set
- PlayStation 4 Theme
The God of War Ragnarok Digital Deluxe Edition will retail for RM339.
Finally, the Collector’s Edition and the Jötnar Edition come with a lot of interesting props and collectables that will surely whet the appetites of many fans of the series. Both the Collector’s Edition and the Jötnar Edition include a steelbook case (sans game disc), a set of Vanir Twin carvings, a dice set (Dwarven Dice Set for the Collector’s Edition and Brok’s Dice Set for the Jötnar Edition) as well as the set’s piers de resistance, a 16-inch Mjölnir Replica.
The Jötnar Edition also comes with a vinyl record featuring music from God of War Ragnarok’s composer, Bear McCreary, a pin set featuring a Falcon, Wolf and Bear, the Legendary Draupnir Ring and a cloth map depicting Yggdrasil. Both editions will also come with all the digital bonuses of the Digital Deluxe Edition.

Pre-orders of God of War Ragnarok will start on 15th July through the PlayStation Store and selected retailers. Those who purchase the game before the launch date will receive the Kratos Risen Snow Armor and the Atreus Risen Snow Tunic in-game items for free.
