OPPO has just launched the OPPO Reno8 Series today along with their first-ever tablet, the OPPO Pad Air.
OPPO Reno8 Series
The OPPO Reno8 Series comes in two variants, the OPPO Reno8 and the OPPO Reno8 Pro. Both devices sport OPPO’s first self-developed, dedicated imaging NPU, MariSilicon X. OPPO claims that the MariSilicon X is capable of taking 4K Ultra Night Video and 4K Ultra HDR Video, the first smartphone to do so at its price point.
The OPPO Reno8 Series also features two Sony flagship sensors, with an IMX709 sensor for the front camera and an IMX766 sensor for the rear camera. Sony IMX709 is a next-generation RGBW 32MP camera sensor customised by OPPO. When compared to typical RGGB sensors, it ensures a 60% increase in light intake and a 35% improvement in noise reduction.
Together with OPPO’s self-designed Quadra Binning technology, every selfie will appear dynamically brilliant and sharp in low-light or backlit situations. The IMX709’s inherent DOL-HDR technology allows the front camera to record high-quality, professional-looking selfies in any situation.
The OPPO Reno8 has a 6.4-inch 90Hz AMOLED display with a screen-to-body ratio of 90.8%. The OPPO Reno8 Pro, on the other hand, has a 6.7-inch 120Hz AMOLED display with a screen-to-body ratio of 93.4%. It is HD and HDR certified for Amazon Prime and Netflix and supports 1 billion colours, HDR10+, SGS Low Motion Blur, and SGS Low Blue Light.
The OPPO Reno8 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1300 processor, which is combined with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. While the OPPO Reno8 Pro is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8100 SoC paired with 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of storage.
Both smartphones tout a 4,500mAh battery with support for OPPO’s 80W SUPERVOOC rapid charging technology is also included, as is a Super-Conductive Vapour Chamber Liquid Cooling System.
The OPPO Reno8 and OPPO Reno8 Pro retail for RM2,399 and RM3,499 respectively with pre-orders open from now until 29th July 2022. Those who pre-order are entitled to free gifts worth up to RM1,486 including an exclusive Reno8 Series giftbox worth RM399, OPPO Care 1-Year Screen Damage Protection worth RM199 and My OPPO Members Privilege up to RM888.

OPPO Pad Air
The OPPO Pad Air comes equipped with a 10.36–inch 2K HD eye care display with TÜV Rheinland certification. The tablet will also come with a Dolby Atmos Quad-speaker audio system on board.
Under the hood is a Snapdragon 680 SoC, 4GB RAM and up to 128GB internal storage that’s expandable via microSD. There’s also a 7,100mAh battery under the hood with 18W fast charging. Camera-wise, the tablet comes with an 8MP main camera and a 5MP selfie camera.
The newly improved ColorOS for Pad operating system powers the OPPO Pad Air. The tablet includes two new Multi-Screen Connect features, file drag and drop and clipboard sharing, while retaining the original unique smart interaction features, such as two-finger split screen, four-finger floating window, and Smart Sidebar.
When a phone is connected to the OPPO Pad Air, users can easily drag and drop photographs and movies captured by the phone to the tablet for processing, making file transfers easier and faster. Users can also copy text on either device and paste it on the other.
The OPPO Pad Air comes in two configurations; 4GB+64GB and 4GB+128GB priced at RM1,099 and RM1,299 respectively.
Pre-orders for the OPPO Pad Air will be available online only from 21st to 29th July 2022. The 4GB+64GB variant will be available exclusively on the OPPO Official Online Store and Shopee, while the 4GB+128GB variant will be available for pre-order on the OPPO Official Online Store, Shopee, and Lazada.
