Twitter Gaming reports that there were nearly 1.5 BILLION Tweets about gaming in the first half of 2022, a record half following a record year for gaming talk in 2021.

The year-over-year growth in gaming Tweets was driven by high-profile talks about game releases such as Elden Ring and esports leagues such as Call of Duty League, VALORANT Champions Tour, and Professional Gamers League Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Global gaming events such as the Xbox Showcase, Playstation’s State of Play, and Summer Game Fest all played a role.
Twitter Gaming also reported that, since capturing the title in 2021, Genshin Impact has remained at the top of the lists for Most Tweeted About Video Game internationally. Wordle, everyone’s favourite everyday activity, came in second place.
