HONOR has released their latest addition to their mid-range HONOR X Series, the HONOR X8. The HONOR X8 comes with 5G connectivity, a large battery capacity and memory all for under RM1,000.
Though similar-looking, the 5G model of the HONOR X8 is slightly different from the 4G version of the same model that was launched earlier this year. For one, the display is a 6.5-inch HD LCD screen that is slightly smaller than the 4G version’s 6.7-inch FHD LCD display. The processor is also different with a Snapdragon 480+ instead of a Snapdragon 680 though the former supports 5G connectivity.
The camera is also different as the new 5G version of the HONOR X8 sports a triple camera setup instead of a quad camera setup. The new triple camera setup includes a 48MP main camera, a 2MP macro camera and a 2MP depth sensor. The selfie camera also gets a slight downgrade at 8MP instead of the 4G version’s 16MP.
Despite the obvious downgrades, the 5G version has a much larger 5,000mAh battery with support for 22.5W fast charging. The device also comes with expandable storage support while the 4G version had none.
HONOR X8 price and availability
The HONOR X8 is available in either Ocean Blue or Midnight Black colours with a retail price of RM999. The device can be purchased through HONOR’s website or through their official stores on Shopee and Lazada.
