PICO is set to launch a brand new VT headset in Malaysia called the PICO 4. The company aims to make VR accessible to everyone by combining comfort and performance.

The PICO 4 weighs only 295g without the strap, thanks to smaller and lighter lenses in the PICO 4’s Pancake Optics, which reduces the case thickness to 35.8mm at its thinnest. The VR headset has adjustable straps and the cushion lining is made of SuperSkin fabric. The anti-slip PU leather at the back of the headset adds to the comfort and control. There’s also a glasses spacer included for those who wear glasses.

The aforementioned Pancake Optics feature a 4K+ resolution (2,160×2,160) per eye and are 2.56-inch LCD panels with 1,200 PPI and refresh rates of 72 and 90Hz. The Pancake Optics have a 105° field of view and TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light Certification. The PICO 4 is also powered by the Snapdragon XR2 processor and features four SLAM cameras around the HMD as well as a 16GB RGB camera capable of producing vivid colours.

The VR headset also comes equipped with a 5,300mAh rear-mounted battery with support for Qualcomm Quick Charge QC 3.0. PICO also states that the VR headset is capable of lasting up to 3 hours of uninterrupted gameplay. The PICO 4 controllers are distinguished by a one-piece rotating arc column with infrared sensors. The controllers also have 6 degrees of freedom and a HyperSense broadband motor for more realistic haptic feedback.

To help further streamline fitness progress tracking, the PICO 4 has introduced the PICO Fitness programme. Through VR motion tracking, users can review historical VR gameplay data as well as their energy output. Furthermore, the VR headset can recommend exercise plans to users based on their objectives.
Fitness content includes LesMills Body Combat, All-In-One Summer Sports VR, and Just Dance VR, which will be released in 2023 as part of an exclusive partnership with Ubisoft.
PICO 4 also provides a diverse gaming experience, with popular titles such as Peaky Blinders: The King’s Ransom, Ultimechs, and The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners – Chapter 2: Retribution available. PICO 4 will also collaborate with Wave to provide fans with immersive, cutting-edge virtual live music experiences.
