Sony has announced the HT-A3000 soundbar, which provides an acclaimed 360 Spatial Sound experience suitable for a wide range of customers. Sony Malaysia also confirms the availability of the HT-A5000 soundbar, which has been widely anticipated.
HT-A3000 soundbar
The HT-A3000 has 3.1 channels, three front speakers, one of which is dedicated to clear dialogue, and a built-in dual subwoofer for deep bass. The HT-A3000, when combined with the Vertical Surround Engine and S-Force PRO Front Surround, produces virtual surround sound from multiple dimensions.
Users can perceive sound from any direction and distance using 360 Spatial Sound Mapping technology. Sound Field Optimization cleverly measures the relative height and position of the soundbar and rear speakers using built-in microphones. It generates multiple phantom speakers by synthesising sound waves based on positional information.
The HT-A3000 soundbar can be paired with compatible BRAVIA XR TVs and can be used as the centre speaker in the home cinema system through the Acoustic Center Sync feature. Furthermore, Acoustic Center Sync collaborates with the 360 Spatial Sound Mapping setup to provide clearer dialogue and a more immersive viewing experience.
The HT-A3000 also comes with 360 Reality Audio that can be used with Amazon Music HD, nugs.net and TIDAL. The soundbar can access services such as Spotify using Chromecast, Spotify Connect or Apple AirPlay 2. Users can also connect the soundbar to their smartphones via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.
There’s also support for DSEE Extreme which uses Edge-AI for real-time restoration of compressed digital music files. Additionally, the soundbar works with Google-assistant with Chromecast built-in or Amazon Alexa-enabled devices.
Users can also add the SA-SW5 subwoofer, which produces 300W of deep, rich bass from a 180mm driver with a passive radiator, or the SA-SW3, which produces 200W of sound from a compact bass reflex subwoofer with a 160mm driver. This adds 180W of wider surround sound in total.
The SA-RS5 features up-firing speakers that produce richer and more immersive 360 Spatial Sound, as well as built-in battery power, or choose the SA-RS3S wireless rear speakers, which produce a total of 100W.
HT-A5000 soundbar
Thanks to Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and Sony’s renowned audio technologies, including Vertical Surround Engine and S-Force PRO Front Surround, the 5.1.2 channel HT-A5000 brings the thrill of the cinema to your own home. The HT-A5000 also includes Sony’s ground-breaking 360 Spatial Sound Mapping technology. When connecting the soundbar to the SA-RS3S rear speakers or the new SA-RS5 wireless rear speaker, you can access the 360 Spatial Sound setup.
Price and availability
The HT-A3000 soundbar will be available for purchase starting from December 2022. Prices for both soundbars and the availability of the HT-A5000 will be revealed at a later date.
