At the time of our review on the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro back in September 2022, while the wearable was most definitely the best one Samsung has ever made – the lack of Blood Pressure and ECG monitoring features weren’t approved in Malaysia as it has to go through the Medical Device board to be approved. That day has arrived and the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro finally get certified and you can now use them on yours.

At the time of this writing, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Series is the second consumer wearables to get a proper registered medical device license in Malaysia. That’s next to the Apple Watch Series which happened last year. Given that wearables are becoming more and more popular and loved by end-consumers, health-related features have been the utmost priority for many. Now that Samsung has gotten approval, the features are available on the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 series – which includes both the normal 5 and Pro.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Series gets Blood Pressure and ECG Features in Malaysia

If you are like us, more specifically like me – here’s the MDA registration number for their Samsung Health Monitor Blood Pressure app – MDA Reg No.: GB9228822-109076. In order to use both features, you will need to use Samsung Health Monitor on your devices. But before you begin, MAKE SURE that you don’t have devices such as pacemakers or any implanted medical devices that will most definitely affect you. Most importantly for body composition – as these devices send small electrical signals that most definitely will interfere with the pacemaker and other medical devices.

To set it up and get it checked, it’s easy –
