My love for a small gaming laptop knows no bounds. It’s definitely one of the best things to have happened in the laptop segment in a while. Packing performance that doesn’t hinder you from doing things in a small profile. That said, at Next@Acer, I had my tunnel vision on this one laptop – here’s the Predator Triton 14 first look.
Predator Triton 14 First Look
Absolutely Small Profile for a Gaming Laptop

To be able to make a laptop with a thin profile requires a lot of rigorous engineering. Making a gaming laptop, on the other hand, is even more intense. Now, the Acer Predator Triton 14 looks like a gaming laptop, however without the usual all-black finish.

I will admit that the silver finish is one of my personal favourites – in fact, the love for this colourway goes way back to the Triton 500 SE. The thing about this profile is that it works well in both work and play situations – this is something you can’t say for many gaming laptops.
Mini-LED Treatment on the Display

We finally get to see Mini-LED making its way into Predator laptops – this laptop features a 14” WQXGA Mini LED display with a 250Hz refresh rate and is DisplayHDR 600 certified. The 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut does give users who use editing software, the ability to use a colour-accurate display. The 16:10 ratio does give the laptop a bigger vertical real estate – so, whatever you try to put in this display – you will be very much happy with it.
Another Powerful Machine under the hood

Specification-wise, the Predator Triton 14 features an Intel Core i7-13700H with an option for NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 or 4050. As for the RAM, it gets 32GB LPDDR5 at 6000Mhz and M.2 SSD for blazing-fast storage. Predator has gone with Intel Killer Wi-Fi 6E to give the latest 6E standards and as for ports, it does have a decent lineup of them ranging from your normal Type-A to Type-C USB ports. It does come with a MicroSD card slot, which I think should have been a proper full-size SD Card slot instead.

Thermal-wise, Predator has equipped this laptop with the latest 5th generation AeroBlade 3D Fan, Vortex Flow airflow optimization and liquid metal thermal grease on the CPU for better dissipation of heat.
Conclusion

Personally, I’d say this laptop is my personal favourite from the entire lineup of laptops launched by Acer and Predator. And I have stated my reason before, it’s not easy to come across a good thin profile gaming laptop and a solid one at that. Just playing with it for a few minutes gave us an idea of how well this laptop is done. I do have quite the tunnel vision for the Predator Triton 14.
Stay tuned to us as we will review when we get the chance to do so.
