This image sensor, combined with high-speed multi-frame overlay procession technology, allows users to shoot noise-resistant photos with a wider dynamic range comparable to a full-frame camera.
The Xperia 1V boasts a 24 mm lens equipped with a 2-layer Transistor Pixel stacked CMOS image sensor called “Exmor T for mobile,” which is significantly larger than its predecessors. Additionally, the device features an 85-125 mm (F2.3-F2.8) optical zoom lens for capturing bright and distortion-free portraits.
The Xperia 1V also introduces S-Cinetone, a renowned feature among cinematographers, adapted specifically for mobile devices. The Snapdragon 8 Gen2 Mobile Platform enhances the CPU’s power efficiency by approximately 40% compared to the previous model, while the volume of the heat diffusion sheet has been increased by around 60% for improved heat dissipation.

Sony remains committed to providing accessibility features, and the Xperia 1V includes a function in the Photo Pro feature that uses sounds to inform users of the horizontal and vertical measurements of the screen. Additionally, Sony is actively working towards environmental sustainability. As part of its environmental plan called “Road to Zero,” Sony aims to achieve zero environmental load by 2050.
To support this goal, the company has set medium-term environmental targets, including the complete elimination of plastic packaging materials for newly designed small products by 2025. The Xperia 1V will be available in Malaysia starting from July 3, 2023, with a suggested retail price of MYR 6,399.
