It’s been quite a while since we heard from Fujifilm Malaysia. They have announced some new cameras in recent time; however, their focus right now happens to be capturing the content creator marker. That said, the Fujifilm X-S20 Malaysia launch has finally happened and here’s what you need to know all about it.
Fujifilm X-S20 Malaysia

The Fujifilm X-S20 is the successor to the X-S10 which came out back in 2020 with an aim to be a compact and lightweight camera to go for. The X-S20 remains true to the lineup with the same concept. That said there are some good improvements, that are worth highlighting about this camera.
Starting off with the sensor – the X-S20 features a 26.1MP X-Trans CMOS 4 sensor which happens to be an APS-C sensor capable of shooting lowlight images. Combined with that is the new X-Processor 5 which has double the processing speeds of the previous X-Processor 4 with AI processing technology, reduced power consumption and a new generation of HEIF image file format which finally catches up to the traditional camera. In fact, HEIF has the potential to capture true 4:2:2 10bit within the camera and better yet, it can capture upto 6.2K at 30fps or 4K60fps or even 1080p with 240fps.

On top of that, the subject-detection AF has the capability to capture a range of images such as the usual humans, animals, birds, cars, motorcycles, bicycles and all the way up to drones. The updated AF algorithm is said to give better focus in more low-contrast conditions. The built-in 5-axis IBIS with 7 stops sure does elevate the stabilization for better photos and video capabilities.

What makes the Fujifilm X-S20 stand out from its competitor is the inclusion of film simulation mode, which gives the same colour science as a traditional film. So, you get to enjoy 19 profiles – ranging from Provia, Velvia, Eterna and my favourite, Acros. Other than that, Fujifilm to is jumping on the Vlogging bandwagon with Product Priority mode, Background Defocus exactly like how the competitor does) and you can get the group to make it more versatile.

The battery gets a pretty colossal bump – to the new NP-W235 which is capable of shooting upto 750 frames, as compared to the older battery which limits you up to about 325 shots. So, more time with you on trips capturing memories and less time charging on the dock. Finally, you can use it as a webcam if you need one, has support for RAW output via HDMI and a dedicated 3.5mm microphone and headphone jack for better audio recording and monitoring.
