It’s that time of the year when Samsung is gearing up to launch their next generation of foldable, namely the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 at the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked on the 26th of July 2023 – which we are days away from experiencing what the new one has. But we have seen a bunch of leaks so far – so, here’s what to expect and perhaps to look forward to.
Since these are leaks, it’s better to take them with a pinch of salt no matter how true they can be.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 Galaxy Unpacked 2023
From the looks of it, granted Samsung is a Korean company and you might think that they have had launches locally. But as it turns out, this is the first time that they are having their Galaxy Unpacked in Seoul, Korea. So far it has happened in New York, and this is the first in South Korea.
That out of the way, this 5th Generation Galaxy Z device in general brings the foldable to your pockets with no doubts whatsoever. The 4 generations have led the brand to polish the experience in every way possible. So far from most leaks, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 might be getting the usual specification bump and minor updates. However, it’s the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 that will see a significant change and that’s in the cover display.
Till the 4th Generation of Z Flip, we have had a smaller cover display that only works well as a widget display and nothing more. The Z Flip 5 is taking the functionality to another level by adding a bigger display which isn’t only going to be dimensionally better but will allow users to use it without needing to open the phone all the time. This is heading in the right direction, and I do hope it gets utilized to the maximum.
Expect to see the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy to power these devices with 8GB or more RAM and 128 or 256GB storage. I hope the 128GB doesn’t exist.
Wait there’s more… allegedly
A New Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 and Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Series
There will be a new Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 in three different sizes – the same way the S8 Tablets came in. There are not much of details to go with these tablets. However, the rumoured Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Series will bring back the Galaxy Watch Classic once again with the rotatable dial – my personal favourite on a smartwatch soon.
At this point, we can only wait and see on the 26th of July 2023, at 8:00 pm KST. So, stay tuned to us – there’s a good chance we might be able to share more about the upcoming devices very soon.
