The Sony WF-1000XM5 is practically the true wireless earbuds version of the bigger brethren of the 1000X series. This time, Sony is elevating the experience with their new Dynamic Driver X, which produces wider frequency, deep bass and clear vocals. The earbuds now feature three microphones on each bud, for better low-frequency cancellation performance. It still features a dual feedback microphone.

Powered by the new Integrated Processor V2 and QN2e processor, it improves the entire experience not just from a listening perspective but in other areas as well. This controls the six microphones on both the earbuds, to give a better ANC than ever – which also adapts to the environment you are in. This is also the part that helps with the seamless listening experience and the new sensors inside help with delivering better spatial audio in both music and games. There are other features such as Adaptive Sound Control, Speak-to-Chat and Multipoint Connect.

Finally, the battery life is rated at 8 hours and you can get up to 60 minutes of playtime with just a quick 3-minute charging. To charge the earbuds, you can do it with the USB-C port or via the built-in wireless charging. The earbuds are built with recycled plastic materials, 25% smaller in size and 20% lighter than the WF-1000XM4. The ear tips are made out of some exclusive material that gives a better fit, reduces the pressure and comes in SS tip too – so you have the right tips all inside the box.
