When it comes to MiniLED monitors, the one brand you wouldn’t really expect to make would be Cooler Master. However, you’d be surprised that the Cooler Master Tempest MiniLED Gaming Monitor happens to be one of the few to choose from with that specific hardware. That said, after a long wait, Cooler Master Tempest GP27U MiniLED has made its way to Malaysia for a cool RM 4,139 and here’s what you can expect from it.

The Cooler Master Tempest GP27U MiniLED Gaming Monitor is a 27” 4K UHD IPS Monitor in a 16:9 aspect ratio. This means that this is the most traditionally designed with none of the curve element to it. With the 160Hz Refresh rate and 1ms response time, this monitor is said to shine in gaming tasks. Most importantly, what makes this particular Cooler Master Tempest GP27U MiniLED Monitor stand out is its name – MiniLED.

MiniLED takes the traditional Full Array Dimming to a whole other level with much smaller and granular dimming zones – this brings a better advantage to HDR-capable content, which gives you that nice deep true blacks and rich colours you’d want. Thanks to the Quantum Dot technology, this monitor is no slouch as it has the potential to produce the most vibrant colours, hitting the DCI-P3 range with no issues – and is perfectly capable of colour-accurate work.

As for the rest, the monitor hits 600nits in SDR mode and 1200nits in HDR Mode. It does support Adaptive Sync right outside the box and with the Ultra-Speed IPS panel – that 1ms response time is going to be delightful while playing games. And yes, it does come built-in with a KVM switch – so you can share your peripherals with multiple devices.

On the back, the monitor touts the following array of ports: 1x DisplayPort, 1x HDMI 2.1, USB-C with 90W Power Delivery and 3x USB Type-A.
