With the OnePlus 12 launch to happen in China very soon (in fact, on the 4th December 2023), we are already seeing a lot of renders and new features to hit the new OnePlus 12. And coming from us, where we loved the OnePlus 11 going back to its roots – it’s safe to say that we are excited to see what the OnePlus 12 has to offer to the masses and here’s what we know so far.

OnePlus 12

Similar Design Style, but that new Jade Green…

OnePlus 12 Launch

OnePlus 12 seems to retain the same design language as the OnePlus 11 which we reviewed earlier this year. However, there are some subtle design changes or improvements to the phone, which makes the 12 seem a lot more mature in more ways. Starting with the colours, the 12 is said to make its appearance in three different colours: Silver, Black and Green. The Green, however, gets this Jade-like or Emerald-like design, which is an absolute favourite of mine from the renders we have seen.

On top of that, the ridges around the camera happen to be new and it now sits a little deeper inside as compared to the 11. As for the rest, it seems to be the same. Now, the famous Alert Slider has a change – it has been moved from the right side of the phone to the left side, as they are using a new integrated antenna (which we will only know more about when the launch happens).

Interesting Hardware Changes

Since this is OnePlus’ flagship, expect it to tout the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 with all that AI capabilities and so on, which you can read about here. However, there’s more to the 12 – as it’s rumoured to feature a Periscope Camera, similar to the Find X2 we reviewed a long time ago. It’s also the 4th Generation Hasselblad Camera on the phone. On top of that, the 12 will bring back fan-favourite features once again to the flagship.

Such as IR Blaster, potentially Wireless Charging rated at 50W, upto 24GB RAM (which could be both Virtual and Dedicated RAM combined) and a 5400mAh battery with 100W SuperVOOC charging. As for the display, we might see a 6.8” OLED Display with similar curvature as the 11, but wider.

Accessories for OnePlus 12 looks “Earthy”

Along with the phones, of course, there are the Official accessories to complement the OnePlus 12. That said, this time around, we won’t be just getting a single Carbon Fibre case like the one on the 11. However, the 12 will see the return of the Wood panel cases and even a Sandstone Case – based on Evan Blass’ leaks – which has been a reliable source for leaks.

Releasing Globally in January 2024

While China is about to see the OnePlus 12 in its flesh on the 4th and 5th of December 2023, the global variant will make its way in 2024 – highly likely in January or February – depending on the region and country.

We genuinely can’t wait to see the new OnePlus 12 in its glory as the 11 got many things right and we hope to see improvements in that same direction. Stay tuned to us as we will definitely cover more about the OnePlus 12 – when it makes its way to Malaysia.
