ROG goes synonymously with the ultimate gaming experience and they have unveiled their new lineup of products – well, more like some specification upgrades and some design changes with a specific series. That said, here’s everything you need to know about the 2024 ROG Zephyrus G and ROG Strix Series – from CES 2024.

CES 2024 ROG Zephyrus G Series

The biggest change with the ROG Zephyrus G Series happens to be the back because its time to bid farewell to the AniMe Matrix. It’s now covered in this Slash Lighting with customizable lighting patterns.

ROG Zephyrus G16 GU605

Performance-wise, the G16 is the one that will tout the new AI-based Intel Core Ultra 9 Processor along with RTX 4090 under the hood. The Max TGP of this laptop caps at 115W which is higher than the G14 and it also comes with 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM. The cooling system is top notch with Liquid Metal Vapor Chamber which varies according to model but it will all have the 2nd Generation Arc Flow Fans.

The Display is a 240Hz 0.2ms, 500 nits – you know it, the ROG Nebula Display OLED instead of a Mini-LED or your traditional LED display as well. Supports WiFi 6E with a 90Wh battery and fast charging, 6 speakers for that immaculate sound and the included 200W/240W adapter can charge this laptop up to 50% in just 30 minutes.

Once again, the Zephyrus G14 shares a lot of similarities with the G16 except in the following areas: the display is now a 3K display instead of a 2.8K from the G16, it uses a 73Wh battery with 180W ROG Power Jack, it’s powered by AMD Ryzen AI 8000 Series with RTX 4070 and the TGP caps at 90W.

2024 ROG Strix Scar 16/18

2024 ROG Strix Scar 16/18

The 2024 ROG Strix Scar 16/18 is still the Scar we know in and out. There’s still the option of opting for 16” or 18” with a 16:10 aspect ratio and up to 90% screen-to-body ratio for one. It still comes equipped with a Mini-LED display – the ROG Nebula HDR with 240Hz and 3ms response time, followed by a 90Wh battery that supports fast charging and Type-C PD as well. The thermal solution appears to be the same – which is the Tri-Fan Technology with Full-Surround Vents and Liquid Metal Conductonaut Extreme on the CPU and GPU.

Other than the RTX 4090, 64GB DDR5 RAM and the RAID 0 2TB+2TB configuration, the big change would be the processor which now has a 14th generation Intel Core i9 14900HX with a TDP of up to 65W. Pair that with the MUX Switch and Advanced Optimus – you have one amazing laptop to bring on the move. And yes, it has Thunderbolt 4 and WiFi 6E support.

2024 ROG Strix G 16/18

For the most part, the 2024 ROG Strix G 16/18 shares a lot of the same traits as the Scar, except for the following we are about to mention. The display is just a normal ROG Nebula Display with 240Hz and 3ms – it’s not the Mini-LED display. Following that, you don’t get the RAID Configuration, however, it does have a 2TB SSD with an extra slot for an upgrade. The RAM it comes with is a 32GB DDR5 5600MHz and under the hood, the processor is pretty much the same as the Scar but the GPU option caps at RTX 4080.

All the laptops here are arriving in Malaysia very soon – so, stay tuned to us on the pricing announcements happening very soon.
