The moment you hear the “A Series”, your brain just wanders off to that “Awesome Screen, Awesome Camera, Long Lasting Battery Life” jingle. Marketing done right. But that said, the Samsung Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A35 are here with a lot of similarities and slight differences. However, this time around, the Korean Giant’s focus for the A Series happens to be the “security” aspect of the software.

Samsung Galaxy A55 and Samsung Galaxy A35 Series

Samsung Galaxy A55 and Samsung Galaxy A35 Series

Let’s get the common denominators for the Samsung Galaxy A55 and A35 first:

  • Both the display for the phones are at 6.6” Super AMOLED FHD+ Display with 120Hz Refresh Rates
  • 5000mAh battery powering up the phone effortlessly with 25W
  • Finally gets Aluminium Frames, which is a huge upgrade in the design element (that’s more love than the Fan Edition gets 💀, sorry not sorry)
  • Both get IP67 Certification with support for MicroSD Cards of upto 1TB

Now moving on to the differences:

  • The Samsung Galaxy A55 uses a newer Exynos 1480 whereas the A35 retains the same Exynos 1380 from last year.
  • The configuration for RAM and Storage for the A35 is 8GB + 256GB whereas the storage for the A55 is the same but the RAM goes upto 12GB.
  • The Camera, we see the following on the A55 – 12MP Ultrawide at f/2.2, 50MP Main with f/1.8 and 5MP Macro. The A35 uses an 8MP Ultrawide at f/2.2, the same 50MP Main Sensor and 5MP Macro as well.
  • The front-facing camera on the A35 is a 13MP f/2.2 shooter whereas the A55 uses a 32MP f/2.2 shooter.

Aside from all of this, the biggest and most interesting thing to be featured in these phones aren’t even the hardware, but the software as this is the first time we see Knox Vault make it to an A Series. Apart from Apple’s serious take on keeping data and privacy safe, Samsung Knox does exactly that with features you probably can’t see from other Android phones.

But that said, these features and hardware are ready to be featured in the new Samsung Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A35. Although we don’t have news on the pricing or availability, Samsung Malaysia will be launching these phones on 22nd March 2024. We will be reviewing the A55, so do stay tuned to us.
