The demand for a portable monitor is on the rise, especially for those who want to multitask. We saw one of their sub-RM 500 options unveiled back in January right in time for Chinese New Year. But what Acer Malaysia has unveiled this time in April, might be the best option if you multitask to the max – because the Acer PD163Q Portable Display has two displays and costs far less than RM 2000.
Acer PD163Q Portable Display
The Acer PD163Q Portable Display is a dual-display portable monitor with a 15.6” 1080p panel which has a matte coating to fight the reflection. Despite the 250 nits peak brightness, it is pretty decent for what it is as it gets the essentials right.\
In terms of the colour gamut, expect the monitor to hit 99% sRGB (72% NTSC). It does use an IPS Panel which eliminates the worry when you use it in different angles, as it can be folded in tent mode, and prop both the displays upright vertically and horizontally.
While it isn’t a gaming monitor, it does hit a 60Hz refresh rate with an 8ms response time and supports FreeSync. As for connectivity, the monitor uses Mini HDMI, 2x USB-C and has an Audio Out as well. If you do want a speaker built in, the 2W speaker is more than enough to listen to audio from a presentation and maybe when you dock your Nintendo Switch.

The Acer PD163Q Portable Display is priced competitively in the market for RM 1,699 – which disrupts the portable monitor market by a lot.
