With everyone jumping on the AI bandwagon, it’s only fair for AMD to do the same thing – with their new AMD Strix Point processor. That said, ASUS Malaysia has unveiled two laptops – one under the TUF Branding and another under ROG. Meet the ASUS TUF Gaming A14 and ROG Zephyrus G16.
AMD Strix Point
Okay, when you read Strix Point – it’s not something ASUS made for their Gaming Laptop. In fact, AMD Strix Point is their codename for the new AI series processor, dubbed the Ryzen AI 300 Series. We will work on a different article for this but today let’s check out their new ASUS TUF Gaming A14 and ROG Zephyrus G16 laptops.
ASUS TUF Gaming A14
One of the two TUF Gaming laptops to tout the Strix Point processor happens to be the new ASUS TUF Gaming A14 – which runs on AMD Ryazen 9 AI HX 370 with 12 cores, 24 threads and has a dedicated NPU hitting 50TOPs for AI-related performance. You get 16GB RAM with 1TB M.2 SSD under the hood. The display on this laptop is a 14” 2.5K display with a 165Hz refresh rate, but sadly it isn’t OLED but an IPS display instead.
The laptop is pretty thin and light in our opinion, making it a good choice for those who are looking for a laptop under 1.5kg. The GPU powering this laptop is the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 and hits a maximum TGP of 100W with Dynamic Boost. This is the only configuration that’s coming to Malaysia.
ROG Zephyrus G16
Moving on to the ROG Zephyrus G16, the laptop features everything we have seen before with the other ROG Zephyrus that’s available in the market. However, the processor is now refreshed to AMD Ryzen 9 AI HX 370 with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 or RTX 4060 with a maximum TGP of 105 W with Dynamic Boost. It comes with 32GB RAM which is plenty. As for the storage, you do get to pick between 1TB or 2TB, depending on your preference.

The ROG Zephyrus G16 is available in two different configurations: the processor for both remains the same, which is the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370. However, the GPU and Storage vary.

- RM 11,499 – AMD Ryzen™ AI 9 HX 370| RTX™ 4060|32GB + 1TB
The TUF Gaming A14 will come in one configuration, as mentioned earlier and it will go for RM 7,599.
