Leica Malaysia has finally announced their Leica D-LUX 8 price and availability in Malaysia for the price of RM 8,575 – here’s what you get with their new compact camera.

Leica D-LUX 8 Malaysia

For the most part, the Leica D-LUX 8 shares a lot of design similarities with the Q Series on the top with the elevated hot-shoe mount area and the dials are recessed at the sides. Since it’s a compact camera, it can easily fit into any pocket or slot even in your smallest or compact bags. When you do take the camera out, here’s what you get under the hood.

The 22MP 4/3” CMOS Sensor has the potential to take photos in both JPG and DNG format. The lens you see here is a Leica DC Vario-Summilux 10.9-34 with a variable aperture of f/1.7-2.8. The entire focal length is equivalent to a 35mm camera’s 24 mm-75 mm focal length. Should you require a Lens filter, it uses the E43 Lens Filter thread for your CPS, ND or even a cool-looking lens hood.

On the back of the camera, you have an OLED EVF with a 2.36M Dots display which should give you the best viewing experience and a 3” TFT LCD display with a 1.8M dot display. The camera is perfectly capable of shooting 4K Videos, should you require and it has an attachable flash unit which is included for a better low-light shooting experience.

Since it’s a Leica camera, you do get the Leica experience with it – starting from the support for the Leica FOTOS app for seamless connectivity and the amazing menu/control system for you to have an easy and effective shooting experience.

At the time of writing, the Leica D-LUX 8 in Malaysia are sold out. However, Leica Store Malaysia is open for orders starting today (with a waitlist). The camera goes for RM 8,575 and you can click here to sign up for their waitlist or head over to the Store at Avenue K to check with them directly.
