With the Redmi Pad Pro now in Malaysia, one might wonder what you get for RM 1,099 or RM1,499 if you want more RAM and storage. Let us break down about it in this article and share what the “Pro” moniker in the Redmi Pad really means.

Xiaomi Redmi Pad Pro Malaysia

You have Two Variants to Choose from with the Same Processor

For one, the Redmi Pad Pro comes in two different variants for you to choose from. The RM 1,099 gets you 6GB RAM and 128GB Storage whereas the RM 1,499 gets you 8GB RAM and 256GB Storage. Both configuration allows you to expand the storage with the help of a MicroSD Card, so it shouldn’t be a problem. But regardless of the configuration, it is powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor, which is pretty solid for a tablet priced at this range, especially when you see others offering just a Snapdragon 6 processor for more price.

Pretty Neat Display with support for the Redmi Smart Pen

On the front, you don’t see a cheap display because the 12.1” 120Hz display has a resolution of 2.5K and offers 249 pixels per inch with a maximum brightness of 500 nits. And yes, alongside this launch, you can get the Redmi Smart Pen with 4096-level pressure and 12 hours of writing time if you need one (for a price of RM 199) and it has a quad-speaker setup, for you to immerse yourself in shows and series of your liking.

You can Get a Keyboard for it too

Yep, you read that right – for RM 399 (or if you get the RM 1,499 variant, you can get the keyboard for free) – you can get a keyboard sleeve. This is the first time we have ever seen a budget-friendly tablet offer a keyboard and this means that you can have a nicer typing experience if you happen to rely on it for such tasks. The 1.3mm key travel and 19mm key pitch, are somewhat similar to a chiclet-style keyboard.

As for the rest

The Redmi Pad Pro runs on Xiaomi HyperOS, which means you get all those interconnectivity features if you happen to use a Xiaomi Smartphone. On top of that, the tablet touts a 10,000mAh battery with a 33W Fast Charging feature for you to get it up and running in no time. On the back, it has a single 8MP camera which is decent for taking pictures of documents and such and on the front you get an 8MP camera as well.

Connectivity-wise, we are looking at Wi-Fi6 and Bluetooth 5.2. Sadly, the Redmi Pad Pro does not come with a cellular option. So, WiFi is your only bet in getting an internet connection when on the move or through your hotspot.

We know the Pricing, but any Offers?

The Redmi Pad Pro does have some offers going on. If you get the 6GB+128GB variant, which is exclusively available through their Online Store, you can get it for RM 999 (while stocks last), whereas the 8GB + 256GB, you get the Redmi Pad Pro Keyboard for free for RM 1,499 and it’s available through both Official, Shopee, Lazada and Authorized stores.

For those who plan to get the accessories separately, the Redmi Pad Pro Keyboard is going for RM 399, the Redmi Pad Pro Cover is going for RM 99 and the Redmi Smart Pen is going for RM 199.
