Instead of an article that talks about the Samsung Galaxy Buds3 and the Buds3 Pro separately, we decided to do a comparison and give our impressions on them at the same time. So, here’s our Samsung Galaxy Bud3 Vs Buds3 Pro Comparison.

Samsung Galaxy Bud3 Vs Buds3 Pro Comparison

New Revamped Design for Cases and Buds

For the first time, ever since the first Gear Buds, we finally see a new design that would split the consumers into two camps. But that said, this new transparent top with a colour finish at the bottom for its case is a nice look which I dig. Once you open the case up, you will notice the earbuds have gone from the earplug shape to the stem-based design. Not a fan of it but I don’t hate it entirely.

But that said, the stem holds most of the hardware and the touch control as well. I do like the gun-metal-finish over the all-white finish which looks very Apple-esque than Samsung. When you look at the earbuds, you will notice, one uses the silicon tip and the other one doesn’t. This is where things start to differ. So, let’s start with the Buds 3 first.

Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Gets…

  • You get a one-way 11mm Dynamic Driver on the Galaxy Buds3 and it uses a similar ear tip as the Airpods without the Silicon tip. So, for the most part, certain users might have air leaks and you don’t get that complete seal.
  • It does support ANC but no support for Ambient Sound and Voice Detect, as the earbud design doesn’t create a Noise Isolation environment.
  • The Buds3 supports 24-bit audio at 48KHz and not at 96 which the Buds3 Pro supports. But this audio streaming capability strictly works with Samsung devices only as it uses SSC Codec and not AptX or LDAC.
  • You do get IP57, however it’s only for the buds and not the case.
  • Offers 5 hours of battery life with ANC and 6 hours without ANC.

Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro on the Other Hand…

  • The Galaxy Buds3 Pro uses a Silicon Tip to give the noise isolation and for the sound, you get a 2-way speaker which comprises a 10.5mm dynamic driver and a 6.1mm planar driver.
  • You get ANC with support for Ambient Sound and Voice Detect. You can amplify the sound with the help of personal sound amplification to drive an extra (up to) 20 decibels.
  • The Buds 3 has a light indicator on its earbuds, called Blade Lights and support for other Mic Sound Monitoring, Signal Analysis and Optimisation.
  • The Buds 3 Pro supports 24-bit audio at 96KHz and uses a new SSC UHQ codec. No support for AptX or LDAC.
  • Offers 6 hours of battery life with ANC and 7 hours without ANC.
  • It also comes with IP57 for the earbuds and not for the case.

Our Concern

The Samsung Galaxy Buds3 and the Galaxy Buds3 Pro are specifically designed for Samsung users to have the best ecosystem experience possible. This leaves the other consumers who want to try in the dark as it doesn’t work to its fullest potential – on other devices as SSC is exclusive to Samsung devices. More specifically, it only works with the Galaxy S24 Series, S23 Series, Z Flip6, Z Fold6, Z Flip5 and Z Fold5.

But this is where we will step in with our review skills to make sure it goes through the right testing and share our opinion in our review soon.
