Since it’s that time of the year when Samsung releases their new Foldables, out of the two phones, the Fold is the only one to receive the least improvements–with many features and hardware carried forward from its predecessor. That said, here’s our Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Impressions.

The Galaxy AI goes wider with more Features

The biggest focus with the Z Fold and Z Flip happens to be the Galaxy AI – a feature we were introduced to back in January with the S24 Series. However, since the Foldables have two displays, they have added features we have not seen before like the Live Interpreter – where now the smaller display on the outside can show the translation to the person on the other side and do live translation on the fly. It was a feature we got to try briefly as it was not in an ideal environment.

But that said, there are more features like these which we will get to check out later during our review process.

Slightly Bigger Display In and Out

The phone has new display dimensions both inside and out. So, on the outside, you are looking at a 6.3” HD+ Display with an increase of +1mm (68.1mm) and on the inside, it has a 7.6” display with an increase of +2.7mm (132.6mm) from its predecessor. The phone now weighs 14 grams less, and the new weight is 239 grams. As for the most of the display, you get the exact configuration as last year – Dynamic AMOLED 2X, Adaptive refresh rate and support for S Pen.

More Angular Design, Improved Hinge with IP48 and a Pink Fold!

One thing that makes me like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 a lot is the new Angular design with an all-matte finish – it’s beautiful and the fact that you have a Pink colour this time around makes a lot of consumers pretty happy. It’s really hard to come by phones with a nice peppy colour.

As we mentioned in our Z Flip 6 Impressions article, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 gets the same improvements with the hinge – better shock distribution, enhanced resistance to pressure and sharp objects and it even uses a much more improved armour aluminium. Because of this, for the first time on a foldable from Samsung, we finally got a better IP certification, now at IP48 (vs IPX8 on the Z Fold 5).

As for the Rest…

There isn’t much to rave about the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 because it shares the same camera setup as its predecessor, battery is the same too, although you do get the newer Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy alongside a bigger Vapor Chamber for better cooling performance. As for the variants available, you have a choice of picking up 256GB, 512GB or 1TB and all the variants come with 12GB RAM by default.

While we won’t be reviewing the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 soon, maybe not ever – it’s safe to say that most of the improvements are in the software department. So, you don’t need to upgrade from the Fold 5 as Samsung claimed that the new Galaxy AI features will come to the older devices. But I have to admit that I love this angular design more than the older curved edge Z Fold 5.

We are reviewing the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 and the Buds 3 Pro – so, stay tuned for what we have to say on our social media.
