What was once upon a time a device exclusively made for the Japanese market has now arrived in Malaysia for the first time. It might be the best time given how unpredictable the weather can be. Sony REON POCKET 5, their wearable thermo-device kit (in lay words, wearable cooling device), is now in Malaysia for RM 799 and here’s what you get.
Sony REON POCKET 5 Malaysia
As the name suggests, the Sony REON POCKET 5 is their 5th generation model in the series. It’s one of the products that was well received in Japan, and Hong Kong when the 4th generation was released. That said, the Sony REON POCKET 5 is a wearable thermos device with a thermo module and a structured heat dissipation fan on the back to offer improved cooling efficiency and airflow.
The device has 5 COOL Levels, runs 1.8 times longer than the 4th generation and can last for 7.5 hours at Level 4. On top of that, the device features an enhanced temperature control where it switches from SMART COOL to WARM MODE by adjusting to the ambient temperature automatically for the best comfort. That’s not all. The Sony REON POCKET 5 comes with a POCKET TAG which attaches to your pocket and with the help of their improved software and 8 sensors on it, helps to detect direct sunlight and adjusts accordingly.
Worry not with the design as it does blend well with casual and business attire as it has extensions on the device which extend out of the collar in formal attire. For RM 799, you get the device itself, a dedicated neckband and a Pocket Tag. However, if you are looking for a pouch to store it away, then Sony sells it separately in other countries and sadly we don’t get it here. But worry not, as there are plenty of OEM options to store the REON Pocket 5 away.
