With more and more digitalization in every industry, U Mobile’s focus on education has been strong for a while now. This is not the first time they have ventured to do something different and with U Mobile Digital School, they aim to bring a cashless ecosystem and establish the necessary infrastructure to ease the livelihood of parents, teachers and children.

U Mobile Digital School also goes by a different name, Projek Rintis – but regardless of the name, the whole aim for this is to roll out the cashless infrastructure for public schools with the help of Vircle, U Mobile’s technology partner. The aim for this is pretty much what you think it is. It’s to help students perform cashless transactions in schools for meals at canteens, and purchasing items at school co-op shops and bookstores.

Of course, it doesn’t stop there, as parental control is necessary as well – and parents can monitor how their kids spend, guiding them to be responsible with money at a young age. With that said U Mobile aims to connect the schools, teachers, parents and students in a way that’s beneficial to everyone in this equation. The whole launch gambit was officiated by YB Fahmi Fadzil, Minister of Communications.

On top of that, under the U Mobile Digital School, the company will be introducing other technology that will accelerate digital adoption, such as digital attendance, security tracking, AI platforms for learning, and advanced TVET courses to name a few.
