One of the three biggest booths at Gamescom Asia 2024 showcasing new and upcoming games was 4Divinity, a part of GCL – and we had the chance to check out 6 games under them – that’s worth every bit of excitement to be honest. So, here are all the games at Gamescom Asia 2024 4Divinity Showcased.

Kong Survivor Instinct

The Monsterverse game is about to go hard because Kong Survivor Instinct is a game where you are playing as David, trying to survive while Kong fights against other titans – as the biggest collateral happens to be the damage caused by the titans in general, putting the humans in harm’s way. That said, this story happens right after Godzilla vs. Kong and the game is designed in 2.5D setting with a Metroid-vania play style. We tried the demo and you can check out what we thought about it by clicking here.

STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl

One of the anticipated titles has gotten delayed time and time again because of a huge reason – in case you didn’t know, it’s made by a Game Studio based in Ukraine and we know what’s going on there. Despite all of that, showing courage in the face of adversity and making this game happen is a big feat by GSC Game World. STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl finally gets a date for release, which is on 21st November 2024 – we are days away from that and you can pre-order it through 2GAME or Steam.

This non-linear cum open-world game is set to take the role of a stalker who explores the radioactive zone and your story begins from there. For those FPS and Horror fans out there who want a game to keep you on your toes and in fact, it’s said to have multiple endings too, based on the path you choose to take – and honestly, the list goes on – including a multiplayer mode which will be released as a free update. You are in for a fun ride with STALKER 2 – seeing how others enjoyed the demo in the booth and we can’t talk much about it – I am looking forward to this one.

Mandragora

Another 2.5D Side-scrolling game with RPG elements made its appearance under 4Divinity. However, unlike the Kong Survivor Instinct, we saw – this game is going to give you that Soulslike experience. With proper strategy and combat, you will have to get through this game with a lot of skills and tactics to begin with – and it’s not a very common occurrence for us to see two different genres combined into one: which is Sidescrolling RPG and Soulslike playstyle. The closest thing that would come to a game like this would be Salt & Sanctuary or Vigil too.

But trying Mandragora for a few minutes, made me realize that this is a game I will most definitely play on the ROG Ally X – to have the best experience possible. You can try the demo from Steam.

JDM: Japanese Drift Master

If there’s one part of the Racing game I suck at, it’s drifting but boy it sure is fun to look at players enjoying drifting throughout the game – and that’s exactly what JDM – Japanese Drift Master is all about. Although they didn’t showcase the same demo as the one found on Steam – which is Rise of the Scorpion, it sure was a nice sight to see, once an arcade player pulls their Initial D-like play through. Throughout the game, all you do is compete, drift and race on different roads and mountain trails – oh and of course, in Japanese style. You can still check out the demo for JDM on Steam – scheduled to come out this year.

Terratech Worlds

One of the overwhelmingly positive games that came out back in 2018, gets a sequel – Terratech Worlds brings a similar kind of fun with new and upgraded graphics – so, this open-world game which is set in an uncharted alien world – is your oyster. You can build, and craft whatever you want really. Currently, the game is under Early Access, and you can purchase to play it – and the studio behind this game Payload Studios, will be adding more content as time comes by. At the moment, we should expect Boss Battles, Set Piece events and Structure Blueprints – with more content to come in the near future.

First Dwarf

Last but not least, First Dwarf is another game that’s under Early Access on Steam. This game is an Action RPG Colony survival game – so expect a lot of the tower defence strategy with base building but with a Sci-Fi/Fantasy element to it. You get all that crafting, surviving and exploring element in the game and again, similarly to Terratech Worlds, this happens in an open-world setting. So, if this is your cup of tea – it is worth checking out.
