One of the tablets that got a lot of attention happens to be the iPad Mini which is a stunning and fantastic mini tablet they have ever made. We finally get a new refresh, which is the iPad Mini 2024 – however, not in the way we expected. And yes, it isn’t even running any of the Apple M Silicon.

The biggest change with the iPad Mini 2024 happens to be the processor – it shares the same processor as the Apple iPhone 15 Pro, which is the A17 Pro. So, this tablet finally joins the Apple Intelligence club as it’s now capable of doing that and the other improvement is the Wi-Fi 6E instead of the 6 and gets Bluetooth 5.3. But as for the rest, you are essentially getting the same as its predecessor – the same 8.3” display, 12MP camera both on the front and back, USB-C, 5G connectivity if you get the Cellular and of course, it supports Apple Pencil Pro.

Not quite the iPad Mini I was expecting – because I was hoping for an M1 in the tablet at least. But what a shame. Storage-wise, Apple has finally retired the 64GB option – and now it starts from 128GB, 256GB and maxes out at 512GB. Interestingly, the only way you could enable Cellular with the iPad Mini is with eSIM as it no longer supports physical nano-SIM.

Pricing and Availability

As for the pricing, the iPad Mini 2024 comes in two connectivity options: the WiFi only begins at RM 2199 for 128GB, RM 2599 for 256GB and RM 3499 for 512GB. Choose to opt in for the cellular, then the 128GB begins at RM 2899, RM 3299 for 256GB and RM 4199 for 512GB. There’s no information as to when it will be available for purchase but when it is available, you can either get it delivered to your doorstep or head to the Apple Store at TRX to pick it up in person.
