Focused on comfort and linking the online and offline world, Sony launched their Linkbuds Series in 2022. Now, the Sony Linkbuds Series is getting an expansion with the announcement of 3 new products, the Linkbuds Fit, Linkbuds Open and Linkbuds Speaker. Here’s everything you need to know about these new Linkbuds.

Sony Linkbuds Series

Linkbuds Fit

Geared for everyday use for those of you who are constantly on the move, the Linkbuds Fit comes with Sony’s new Air Fitting Supporters that are made specially for the Linkbuds Fit. The Fitting Supporters have a tail that is soft and hollow to reduce ear contact and therefore lessen the pressure, whilst the attachment point maintains a strong grip so that it won’t be dislodged so easily. This means that the Linkbuds will fit nicely at the tip of the ears for people with larger ears, and it will fit in the middle for smaller ears.

The Linkbuds Fit comes with the Noise Cancelling Integrated Processor V2, and it also comes with the Ambient Sound Mode that will automatically adjust ambient sound to match your surroundings. The Linkbuds Fit will provide exceptional audio and call clarity thanks to the Dynamic Driver X that can be found in Sony’s WF-1000XM5.

The Linkbuds Fit also supports High-Resolution Audio Wireless and DSEE Extreme, with Precise Voice Pickup Technology that will optimally control the microphone on the outside and inside of the earbud. Featuring the Multipoint Connection for instant play and pause, and you can control the Linkbuds Fit with head gestures or even use the built-in voice control and Speak-to-Chat.

The Wide Area Tap accommodates double or triple taps in the front on either ear to control music playback, so you don’t need to touch the Linkbuds Fit itself to operate. The Linkbuds Fit comes with Auto Switch, Auto Play, and Quick Access, making it easier for you to access your Amazon Music Play Now or Spotify Tap. The Linkbuds Fit sports a battery life of up to 21 hours of total playback and is well protected with the IPX4 water resistance rating.

Linkbuds Open

What makes the Linkbuds Open different from its siblings is the open-ring driver unit that is aimed to maintain audio transparency so that you can hear the world around you. Great when in crowded environments, be it the workplace or the mall for example. The Linkbuds Open features the Adaptive Volume Control, a smart feature that will optimise the volume based on where you are.

The Linkbuds Open also features the new Fitting Supporters for a comfortable and secure fit. Sporting a specially designed 11mm ring-shaped driver unit and Sony’s Integrated Processor V2, the Linkbuds Open offers balanced and high-quality audio with clear mid to high ranges. The Linkbuds Open also supports DSEE and the Precise Voice Pick Up technology.

Like its sibling, the Linkbuds Open includes the Multipoint Connection and comes packed with the same intuitive features; the Auto Switch, Auto Play, Quick Access, voice control and Wide Area Tap. The Linkbuds Open has battery life of up to 22 hours and has the IPX4 water resistance rating.

Linkbuds Speaker

If you just want a cute little speaker to carry around with you, then Sony’s got you covered with the Linkbuds Speaker. Sporting the X-Balanced Speaker for bass and clear vocals, the Linkbuds Speaker will ensure well-balanced sound quality despite its portable size. The Linkbuds Speaker also comes packed with a wireless speaker, allowing you to take calls with it.

Also sporting the Multipoint Connection, the Linkbuds Speaker can easily pair with either the Linkbuds Fit and Linkbuds Open. The Auto Switch and Auto Play will allow you to seamlessly switch playback between any of the devices. On top of that, the Linkbuds Speaker also has Quick Access to keep you connected to your music.

You can easily carry your Linkbuds Speaker anywhere, because it comes with a handy detachable strap, and it also comes with a dedicated charging cradle to ensure convenient charging. Nevertheless, the Linkbuds Speaker has a battery life of up to 25 hours, so you won’t need to worry about charging it too often. Water splashes are not a concern either, because the Linkbuds Speaker has an IPX4 water resistance rating too.
