The Tokyo Game Show ended on 29th September 2024, and there were a bunch of new games announced and then there were marketing drives for the games slated to release pretty soon. PlayStation State of Play 2024 announced a plethora of games, DLCs and add-ons that will be making it’s way to your consoles. So here’s everything you can look forward to.
Sony PlayStation State of Play 2024 Upcoming Games
Dragon Age: The Veilguard
It’s been 10 years since Bioware last released a Dragon Age game and they unveiled Dragon Age: The Veilguard back in July 2024. Now, they’ve brought out a new State of Play trailer as Bioware continues its marketing drive. To top it off, the devs have also released a deep-dive gameplay video as a follow up.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard is set to release on PS5 on 31st October 2024.
Monster Hunter Wilds
Capcom brings us their newest addition to the Monster Hunter series, Monster Hunter Wilds. In their new reveal trailer, the flagship monster, the “White Wraith” was shown.
Monster Hunter Wilds is set to release on PS5 on 28th February 2025.
Ghost of Yotei
From the creators of Ghost of Tsushima, Sucker Punch studios now brings us Ghost of Yotei. Taking place in a different region of Japan with a new protagonist and story, the game will be released on PS5 in 2025 with no specifics on the release date.
Fantasian Neo Dimension
From the father of Final Fantasy, Hironobu Sakaguchi, alongside composer Nobuo Uematsu, comes an original RPG game by Mistwalker Corporation; Fantasian Neo Dimension. Mixing physical handmade environments, totalling up to a whopping 150 dioramas, with 3D characters, Fantasian Neo Dimension’s gameplay is a modern take on the turn-based battle system.
Pre-order is available as of now, and the game is set to release on PS5 on 5th December 2024.
The Midnight Walk
From the minds behind Lost in Random, The Midnight Walk is a dark fantasy adventure that features environments and characters that are handcrafted in clay and animated in stop-motion style. Players take on the role of ‘The Burnt One’ and guide their little lantern friend, Potboy to outsmart flame eating monsters through five Tales of Fire.
The game is set to release on PS5 and PS VR2 in Spring of 2025.
Fear the Spotlight
Published by Blumhouse Games, Cozy Game Pals brings us a third-person survival-horror game, minus the survival bit, Fear the Spotlight. The game is styled with the 90’s retro aesthetic in mind, reminiscent of survival-horror classics. The gameplay involves puzzle solving and some hide-and-seek elements as players avoid a mysterious entity.
Fear the Spotlight will be launched on PS4 and PS5 on 22nd October 2024, just in time for Halloween.
Dynasty Warrior: Origins
Koei Tecmo brings us a new hack-and-slash addition to their Dynasty Warrior series. Following a nameless hero, players will battle their way through the Three Kingdoms era of China in this new game, Dynasty Warrior: Origins.
The game will launch on 17th January 2025 on PS5.
Hitman World of Assassination
This game announcement came as quite the surprise. Releasing for the PS VR2, Hitman World of Assassination moves from third-person to first-person with full dual-wielding and intuitive gestures.
Coming this December 2024 to PS VR2.
Metro Awakening
A spin off game of the Metro franchise and prequel to Metro 2033, Metro Awakening is a first-person shooter game that follows Sedar, a doctor who must venture into the treacherous Moscow tunnel system in order to reunite with his wife. The game will feature the origin story for Khan, a supernatural being in the Metro universe.
Set to release on 7th November 2024 for PS VR2.
Lego Horizon Adventures
The Lego version of Aloy is ready to embark on a new journey in Lego Horizon adventures.
Aloy returns to PS5 on 14th November 2024. Lego Horizon Adventures will be available for pre-order on 3rd October 2024.
ArcheAge Chronicles
The latest instalment of the ArcheAge series, XLGAMES announces the ArcheAge Chronicles, an online action RPG game that is set 50 years after the original.
Coming to PS5 next year, 2025.
Towers of Aghasba
Dreamlit Inc. announces their open world survival crafting game, Towers of Aghasba. You can invite friends to craft, harvest and fight to hang on to your fantasy island.
Towers of Aghasba will be coming to PS5 in 2025.
Hell is Us
A third-person action-adventure game by Rogue Factor, Hell is Us is a semi-open world with no maps, no compass and no quest markers. Players will have to rely on themselves in order to navigate the game, solve puzzles and progress the story through exploration. Combat is all melee based and players will have access to spears, swords and axes, as well as a little drone buddy.
The game is slated to release in 2025 on PS5.
Sony PlayStation State of Play Remasters
Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered
7 years after the official release, Guerrilla Games announces Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, with the goal of updating in-game graphics to match Horizon Forbidden West. The remaster will have improved shaders and textures, upgraded character models, and roughly 10 hours of re-recorded conversations with the assistance of mocap.
Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered will release on PS5 on 31st October 2024.
Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered
Commemorating their 25th Anniversary of Soul Reaver, Aspyr announces the Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2.
Set to release on 10th December 2024 on both PS4 and PS5.
Lunar Remastered Collection
After 25 years, the legendary JRPG series, Lunar, returns in the form of the Lunar Remastered Collection, combining both Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete and Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete.
Coming to PS5 in Spring 2025 for both PS4 and PS5

Alan Wake 2: The Lake House
Remedy Entertainment announces a new expansion, Alan Wake 2: The Lake House, taking place in a new location on the shores of Cauldron Lake. The Lake House is a station under the Federal Bureau of Control, and an experiment gone wrong has resulted in reality colliding with the Dark.
The Alan Wake 2 expansion is readily available for those with the Alan Wake 2 Expansion Pass that is included in the digital Deluxe Edition, and will later be included in the physical Deluxe Edition and Collector’s Edition. Standard Edition owners will need to upgrade to the Deluxe Edition in order to access the expansion.
Alan Wake 2: The Lake House expansion is set to release on PS5 in October 2024.
Stellar Blade x NieR: Automata
Shift Up announced the Stellar Blade x NieR: Automata DLC that will allow players to strut around as 2B, the protagonist of the famous RPG game, NieR: Automata. On top of that, they will be including a Photo Mode that is now made available to all players. Shift Up has yet to grace up with a release date of this DLC, so we’ll be keeping an eye out for future announcements.
TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge – Radical Reptiles
TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge will be releasing a DLC, Radical Reptiles, that features 2 new playable characters; Mona Lisa and Mondo Gecko. There will also be an update with new remix OST featuring several artists; Tomoya Tomita, Jake Kaufman, Anamanaguchi, Keiji Yamagishi, Sean Bialo, and Button Masher.
The Radical Reptiles DLC is available now on both PS4 and PS5.
Astro Bot
Sporting 5 new online speedrun levels and 10 new bots to rescue, this Astro Bot DLC will be made free for everyone coming Fall 2024.
Sonic X Shadow Generations
With the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 coming on 20th December 2024, SEGA is announcing a DLC for the Sonic X Shadow Generations game, entitled the Hedgehog 3 Movie Pack.
The Hedgehog 3 Movie Pack will officially launch on 12th December 2024 on both PS4 and PS5.
