This year might not be the year for Samsung – because the Samsung Galaxy S25 and the S25+ are two device with least amount of improvements. This proves one point – that the graph has plateaued and we are going to see less hardware changes from here onwards.
Samsung Galaxy S25 and S25+ Impressions
What’s the Same?
Almost everything with the phone is exactly the same as the Samsung Galaxy S24 and S24+. The display dimensions are 6.3” and 6.7”, the camera configuration has been retained exactly like last year, the battery department has not seen an improvement with the small one to tout a 4000mAh battery and the plus to tout a 4900mAh battery instead. The charging speeds have not been improved – but the 45W is okay with the Plus, however, the little one retains the more inferior 25W which is not a good look.
What’s Different?
The Processor
Samsung has bid farewell to their very own Exynos processor and have opted in for the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, which is like a specially curated binned processor made for the Galaxy smartphones. This might spark a lot of joy for many users as there’s a huge group of users who are not a fan of Exynos.
Tiny S25 to get 12GB RAM
The Samsung Galaxy S25 has finally joined the 12GB RAM club, making the entire Samsung Galaxy S25 Series tout the same RAM configuration.
Other than that…
The Samsung Galaxy S25 and S25+ have plateaued and it feels more like an iPhone-esque experience in and out and it’s a little ironic coming from a brand that’s known to mock the Cupertino brand. While this may be the most bland smartphone we will see from them this year, Samsung is focusing on giving a more personalized software experience out of the box, which we need to try to see how good it is.
