Sometimes you’d want leaks to be inaccurate and be awed by what a brand is capable of with the hardware and experience they aim to bring to the table. But it looks like Samsung has given up and the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra Hands-on session, proved us one thing right: Samsung’s innovation curve has plateaued.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra Hands-On

Everything from Leaks is right

Yes, the S Pen Loses the Bluetooth Connectivity

One of the biggest changes with the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra happens to the removal of BLE connectivity from the S Pen to the phone. Now this may be a deal breaker to some because some remote-like functions would require the S Pen Bluetooth connectivity but that changes as it now functions like a normal S Pen after all. Personally, I have used the pen more for writing than for shutter and such, so it doesn’t quite bother me – but I am sure it does affect a small group of people who really wants this feature.

Yes, the Phone now have Flatter Sides, reminiscent of Note Series

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra gets a lot chiseled with flatter sides, which weirdly feels like the S24 Fan Edition but the phone is now easier to grip on the sides due to the flat finish. It’s made out of Titanium, which again, I am not a fan of – as I believe precious metals like those are better kept for things that requires it. Other than that, the camera rings have a more black finish, instead of the silver ring finish. I am a fan of this flat finish more than the curvier Ultra – just like I was a fan of the Note series more than the S series.

Hardware-wise, only two significant changes: A new 50MP Ultrawide and Snapdragon 8 Elite

New year means, new hardware – but in this case, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra only gets a new processor, the Snapdragon 8 Elite which is the flagship processor you will be finding in flagships throughout 2025. The performance of the Elite is a little concerning because based on the devices with the same Processors we have tested, most phones have trouble keeping things cool. So, I reckon we are going to run into such issues with the S25 Ultra this year.

Secondly, the 12MP Ultrawide camera has been replaced for a 50MP Ultrawide camera. So, for those who want a higher resolution ultrawide camera, you are going to have a fun time. As for the rest of the phone, it’s exactly the same as last year. Same camera setup other than the 50MP Ultrawide change. The display gets a .1 inch increase, totaling to 6.9” (heh, nice).

One of the biggest, highlight for me personally, happens to be the recycled material used in the battery because this is the first time they have used upto 50% of recycled cobalt from older batteries into their new phones. We will look more into this later.

Other than that…

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, is a plain jane and throughout our time trying out the phone, Samsung clearly mentioned that it’s only the software department where we will see some new introduction of features, and such – but funny enough, we have seen most of it already. But worry not, we are going to get into the review for this phone sooner than you think. So, stay tuned to us.
