Apart from the usual flagships we see every year, one brand I am looking forward to, is none other than Xiaomi. And it’s safe to say, they have been doing the right thing in both hardware and software these days. Apart from the Xiaomi 15 series, which we all know of – the one phone we have yet to see “officially” is the Xiaomi 15 Ultra but if the rumors and leaks are right, we are in for an exciting ride. So, here’s everything we know so far.
Xiaomi 15 Ultra: What We Know so Far

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra will be the successor their 14 Ultra which received raving reviews and overwhelmingly positive responses from many users, enthusiasts and content creator. Apart from Sony who seems to be bringing the full-fledged camera experience mobile, Xiaomi is doing the same thing and with the collaboration with the German Camera Maker, Leica – safe to say that this partnership is heading in the right directions. And from that, we will be getting this funky Leica M inspired design which I am looking forward to.
Now, let’s talk about all the rumors we know and leaks we have seen so far. Starting with the device design. It appears to retain the same design as last year with some slight changes – like the Leica logo on the circular camera glass and we notice some repositioning of the camera sensors and flash as well. The all-black finish appears to be glittery which I don’t fancy but I am hoping to see the “faux leather” finish of this phone soon. And based on the teaser, we might see a Blue Ultra after all.
Speaking of sensor, we might see a 1” inch type sensor on the Ultra, specifically, the Sony Lytia LYT-900 sensor with a 200MP periscope telephoto camera sensor obtained from Samsung (ISOCELL HP9) and an ultrawide 50MP ISOCELL JN5. There will be a short range Telephoto, which appears to be Sony IMX 858 with 3x optical zoom. While it may not be the first time we have seen such crazy configuration, I must say, it’s exciting to see it on a Xiaomi 15 Ultra – living up to the Ultra name.

Under the hood, we can expect nothing less than a Snapdragon 8 Elite with 16GB RAM and storage configuration similar to the 14 Ultra. There’s a rumor that the phone will tout 6000mAh battery (vs 5000mAh on the 14 Ultra) which I am interested and it should feature the same 90W Wired Charging and 50W Wireless charging as the 14 Ultra.

Despite all these rumors, what we are missing out is on how the software is amping up the experience with the hardware mentioned about and only time will tell – afterall, we do have a date on when the phone is getting released. Xiaomi have teased that the phone will be launching on 26th February in China, which is pretty close to the global announcement of the 15 series at MWC 2025. So, it’s only a matter of time we will see these devices arrive at our shores. Till then, do stay tuned to us.
