If both TUF Gaming and ROG Gaming laptops are out of your price point, well, the new ASUS Gaming Laptop Lineup is going to be right up your alley with decent hardware, which starts from RM 3,499 and there are two options for you to choose from – the ASUS Gaming V16 and ASUS Gaming K16.

ASUS Gaming Laptop Lineup

ASUS Gaming K16

Starting off with the ASUS Gaming K16, you might get confused as it touts a Vivobook logo, and that’s because this laptop is a rehashed Vivobook but for gaming. Under the hood, you get the 13th Generation Intel Core i5-13420H processor with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 and 16GB DDR4 RAM coupled with 512GB PCIe Gen 4 SSD.

For the display, you are, of course, getting a FHD+ 16-inch display in the 16:10 aspect ratio with 300 nits brightness and 144Hz refresh rate. With a 50Wh battery and 120W AC Adapter included, all of this comes in at 1.8kg, which is pretty decent for a laptop like this. Don’t have to worry about ports either because it comes with USB-3.2 Gen 1 Type C, 3.2 Gen 1 Type A, HDMI 2.1, Audio combo jack and a SD Card reader as well.

ASUS Gaming V16

The ASUS Gaming V16 is a properly made ASUS Gaming laptop with newer hardware under the hood – you are looking at the latest Intel Core 5-210H Processor with 8 cores and 12 threads, and uses NVIDIA RTX 4050 instead. The RAM that comes paired with this laptop is a 16GB DDR5 RAM with 2 SO-DIMM Slots, which means upgradability is possible, and of course, houses a 512GB PCIe Gen 4 SSD as well.

Once again for the display, you are getting the exact configuration as the K16 with a 16” 144Hz IPS Panel, which should do the trick. The ports, however, you do see some changes like 1 USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 with support for DP 1.4 and PD 3.0, 2x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, HDMI 2.1 FRL, Audio Combo Jack and DC-in. The battery capacity goes up to 63Wh, which is pretty neat, and comes with a 150W Adapter included inside the box. All of this comes in at 1.95kg.

Pricing and Availability

For pricing, the ASUS Gaming V16 is going for RM 3,999 whereas the ASUS Gaming K16 is priced at RM 3,499. We’d say these are great entry budget laptops that could cover some grounds and a perfect choice for students who are on a lookout for laptop you could use for coursework and gaming.
