If you count by your fingers, there are four major players in the ring wearable space, but after Computex 2025, the Acer FreeSense Ring joins the bandwagon as a potential 5th player – if they get it right. With that said, here’s what we found out and what surprised us about the Acer FreeSense Ring at Computex 2025.

Computex 2025 Acer FreeSense Ring

While wearables aren’t Acer’s strongest suit in general, they have been diversifying their portfolio with a vast selection of products from the get-go. Wearables, more specifically, this Acer FreeSense Ring happens to be one of them.

For starters, you can notice how they have limited sizing available at the booth: starting from 6, 7, 10, 11 and 13. Unlike the Galaxy Ring which is available in Malaysia, the Acer FreeSense Ring will be available in a much more limited sizes – that might be a problem for those who are looking to get a size out of the 5 mentioned above.

Acer isn’t cutting any corners here because they are offering 5ATM, IP68 and the entire ring constructed out of Titanium alloy. What’s surprising is that: the Acer FreeSense Ring feels a whole lot lighter than the Galaxy Ring which we reviewed not too long ago. Apart from that, the wearable Acer has announced will offer all sorts of health tracking, ranging from Sleep, workouts, your daily and even with the help of AI to generate Energy Scores on how to improve your daily routine.

All the features they mentioned, goes a lot more deeper than I expected with reading you usually find from other Ring wearables, behind a pay wall. And this is where things get a whole lot interesting because Acer is offering all of the health tracking for no extra cost. Which means, the initial money invested in the device is all you will be paying. Available in two colours: Black and Gold, which are much better finishes than the Galaxy Ring – I am looking forward to this ring arriving in Malaysia.

At the time of writing, Acer has said that it will be priced at $199 USD, which is pretty much the same price you pay for the Oura 3, although requires a subscription for detailed tracking but it’s without a doubt, much more affordable than the Galaxy Ring and won’t be tied to a specific ecosystem. Which means anyone with an Android phone or iOS will be able to use the Acer FreeSense Ring with no limitations.
