PCIe Gen 5 is the next best thing in the storage segment, and there are many who displayed their solutions in the market, but at Computex 2025, AGI caught our attention for not just making PCIe Gen 5 storage and CUDIMM RAMs but also for making the new MicroSD Express card for Nintendo Switch 2.

Computex 2025 AGI Technology

AGI PCIe Gen 5 SSDs

One of the biggest breakthroughs we have seen in the PCMR segment showcased by many is how Storages have now exceeded expectations and now hits speeds that were once a dream. With the PCIe Gen5 x4 interface, AGI has unveiled a bunch of SSDs that can hit a whopping 14,000MB/s. And while this speeds are crazy for the things we plan to do, however, with how AI Systems and compute environments that requires the high-throughput – this storage offers good performance, latency and stability.

One interesting thing with AGI’s SSD happens to be the heatsink design where it looks rather edgy, but when you look from the side – you will notice it says AGI – it’s cute but looks good I must say.

USB4 Portable SSDs for Mobile Editing

As someone who relies on portable storage for editing and keeping backup on the move, like what I did during Computex 2025, AGI has unveiled a slew of USB4 certified SSDs (Thunderbolt 4 included of course) which can hit speeds upto 4000MB/s. Making these portable, plug-and-play is a huge win – and with how more mobile devices are now enabling options to record directly to SSD via USB-C – it’s safe to say that we are looking at something feasible for many content creators.

AGI MicroSD Express Card

Saving the best for last, because we are excited for this – with very few options available for MicroSD Express cards out there, it’s safe to say that AGI chose the right place to shine. Launching sometime in June when the Switch 2 makes its debut, AGI is planning to launch their MicroSD Express Card which gives you performance of 800MB/700MB read and write speeds. While there aren’t many devices that comes equipped with the new MicroSD Express card standards, it’s good that Switch 2 will be the first one to feature it.

While its new, it could also mean that this storage is going to be expensive to obtain – but AGI has claimed that their pricing is going to be competitive and it will be the one to go for. I am rooting for this. Looking forward to it AGI.
