One of the biggest necessities for a home is a good source of drinking water, and life has been fairly kind in Malaysia as we have options to subscription plans for water purifiers, and Coway being one of the big ones. Thanks to Coway Malaysia, we had the chance to do this Coway Dazzie Review, where we used it for three weeks and let us share how that went.

Coway Dazzie Review

Setup Process

Just like any Water Purifier system, Coway assigns a technician to get the whole thing set up from the ground up. There’s a more permanent setup (connecting to the root source of water around your sink), and there’s the temporary setup we went for, which made more sense as we were given a three-week duration to use it.

The Coway Dazzie connects directly to the main water sink with an attachment, and it’s pretty straightforward. Right after, we were guided by the Coway technician on how to and one important thing not to do: to never close the main water tap, so that the Dazzie receives an uninterrupted water supply, which is, of course, a requirement.

I will tell you this: It does take a while for you to get used to, because old habits do die hard – and it took about a week for me to get readjusted. Otherwise, I appreciate the technician who came over to set it all up and get it up and running. If Coway were to include a simple instruction to do it, I would be able to do it, but it’s best left in the hands of the technician, so that you don’t void any warranty, especially if you are on a subscription plan.

Design and Finish

I love a good minimalistic finish, and the Coway Dazzie looks like a work of art once installed – I’d call this design a very Bespoke approach in every way possible. It’s made available in 5 different colours: Ciel Blue, Peach Pink, Mint Green and for those who want a simpler choice, you have Black and White.

We received Mint Green, which appears to have a more pastel shade in real life than what we noticed in the renders available on the site. It has a more subtle green shade, and we love how it looks. Granted, under different lighting settings, you are going to notice some level of shift in the shades. In warm lighting, you can see it has a stronger green shade.

The dimensions of the Coway Dazzie are pretty small and take up so little space on a counter. Thanks to its more defined shape that looks like a piece falling in Tetris, it takes the right kind of space, without making things awkward on a table. So, if this dimension is what you are looking for, then you are at the right place.

Purification Process: Coway NanoTrap, Innosense and UV Sterlizer

When you get a Water Purifier, the purification process is extremely important because the last thing you want to go through is falling sick over an improper purification process. That said, Coway specifically equipped the Dazzie with two purification processes and one precautionary measure: NanoTrap, InnoSense and the UV Sterlizer.

Starting with Coway NanoTrap Filter, These are not RO Membrane based filters, however, Coway claims that it has a large surface area with Nanofibre with a Electrospun coating, which helps with reducing bio-fouling materials like debris, bacteria, viruses and the list goes on.

We are not going to bore you with the technicalities but the NanoTrap Filter does exactly this: it passes water particles through and blocks all the chemicals, particles and reduces the virus and bacterias from passing through, which is why you’ll see the Dazzie drains water from time to time to dispose of those contaminants. Sometimes at odd hours, which has woken me up from sleep, making me wonder, where is this water sound coming from (?). Granted, I live in SoHo and there’s no partition, but if you are setting it up in a house with proper partition, then this shouldn’t bother you.

Coway claims that it uses electromagnetic force to remove those bacteria and viruses. Again, it’s a fancier way of saying that “with the help of using positive ions, they reduce the negatively charged ions, in this case, organisms up to 0.01 microns, which then get absorbed into the filter.

The filtering does not stop there, because it then goes through the InnoSense Filter – now, this is an important filter. Have you ever wondered why certain shops have a strong odour in their water? It’s because the filters lack carbon to absorb the odour and finer filters to give that “bottled mineral water” taste. This is exactly what the InnoSense Filter does. The more mainstream term for this is Polishing Filter.

With these two filters, Coway has equipped with the Dazzie, it’s safe to say that it has a 2-stage filtering with two filters because Coway makes much bigger water purifiers like the Coway Villaem III, which also features a pre-filter by the name NeoSense. Does that mean you are at a losing end with the Coway Dazzie? Well, it depends on the area you live in.

The area you live in affects the quality of the water, and the worse it is, the more aggressive filter you require. In my case, at Petaling Jaya, more specifically, in Kelana Jaya, our water source has been pretty decent to begin with, and while the pre-filter is a good thing to have, the latter filters, such as the Nano and Polishing Filters, are far more important. Cost, too, can be a concern for many, so in this case, I am happy to report that Coway gave the important filters rather than cutting them off. These filters have a 4-month lifespan before they get swapped, so the key is to make sure that you service your Dazzie on time.

Finally, one of their new inclusions, which you can find in many of their Water purifiers, is the UV Sterilisation. A genius implementation, where the machine sterilises the faucet for 25 minutes after 6 hours of inactivity to keep those bacteria away from the point of dispensing. All of these health-centric features make up the Coway Dazzie, a capable water purifier.

Experience

The Experience of using the Coway Dazzie for over three weeks was pretty nice to begin with. For starters, the touch-based control on the front and a single water droplet button are easy to use. You can tap the three temperatures (Cold, Ambient and Hot) to dispense the water, and the Amount toggle allows you to pick the amount (250ml, 500ml and 1l) you require, with an additional free-flow option, of course.

If you tap the Hot temperature, you can choose your preferred water temperature (45, 70, 80 and 95 degrees Celsius). What I like about the hot option is that, to keep yourself or your kids safe from harm, you could tap and hold the Hot button for 3 seconds to enable the child lock. It’s a simple lock, which is all you need.

Using it is very easy, and there’s nothing much to rave about, after all, it is a water dispenser. So, from taking cold water to making yourself a nice Hot Chocolate drink, it’s very easy and effective. So much so that I completely ditched my Kettle, which allows me to prep hot water for my hot drinks. For Cold Water, the Dazzie has a reserve tank, which holds up to 1 litre – so, once you do use it all up, it will refill, cool it and indicate that the cold water is ready to be dispensed.

If you are using a tall tumbler to fill up water, it has adequate space at the bottom to be able to place it while filling. The only issue is that, when you use a mug or a cup, due to the lack of a longer spout, it does splash around the casing of the Dazzie, which you have to wipe down from time to time. Coway claims to have included an additional Hot Water Faucet in the box, but we didn’t find one.

The bright and legible LED lighting is easy to look at, and it isn’t too bright that it disrupts the ambience. The cute, innocent beeps-and-bops it makes are the least distracting kind, and it just works. When you don’t use it for an hour, the LED turns off, which is perfect at night.

Credit where it’s due, Coway has been at this for years now, and it’s no surprise that they have an almost perfect water purifier for users to purchase. My only gripe would be the lack of an extending waterspout to avoid water splashes all around, but if the “Complimentary Extended Spout” is, of course, included, then it’s better than nothing in my opinion.

Maintenance

When it comes to maintenance, this is one area we cannot comment on because we didn’t use it for as long as four months, get the filter changed and experience the entire water purifier. But based on what Coway shared, you are looking at a 4-month replacement for the filters, both filters, of course. Now, it comes with service as well, but it entirely depends on how you want to obtain the Coway Dazzie.

Coway offers the Dazzie on a Monthly rental basis with three options to obtain: RM 79 for 7 Years, RM 105 for 5 Years and RM 120 for a (3+2). You do have an option to purchase the machine outright for RM 4,590, but it only gives you one year of free Service, and the subsequent purchases for the filter will cost you separately. The experience may vary depending on the area you live in and how accessible Coway is, but granted how they have expanded over the years, it shouldn’t be an issue.

Conclusion

After our three weeks with the Coway Dazzie Water Purifier, I must say, getting a Water Purifier like this one is a good investment for better health and to be able to rely on one source for Hot, Ambient and Cold water without the need to take up space in the refrigerator for Cold water and rely on a separate kettle for hot water, it saves a lot of time, space, and the need for multiple appliance.

But for those who are looking at the Coway Neon, it does share a lot of similarities as it uses the exact filters (Nanotrap and Inno-Sense), which last for 8 months because dimensionally it’s bigger, and it is cheaper as well, due to its simpler/basic nature of control. But, regardless of the Neon or Dazzie, you will miss out on the Pre-Filter that the Coway Villaem III features, but that’s okay as long as you are living in suitable places where you have a relatively clean water source.

3:30pm, 27th May 2025: Coway Malaysia confirmed with us that the filters they use are not the same as RO – instead their filters are designed differently with different ideas in mind. This has been revised in our article and you can check out below for the detailed data info on it.
