With other countries getting the Nintendo Switch 2 since the beginning of June, and even Asian countries like Singapore, Hong Kong to name a few – you can obtain these handhelds pretty easily. Malaysia was not on the list, due to SIRIM, but those problems are now behind us as Nintendo announced the Nintendo Switch 2 Malaysia is finally arriving on 3rd July 2025.

Nintendo Switch 2 Malaysia Release

Nintendo Switch 2 is the prim-and-proper, second-generation handheld from Nintendo which brings a bigger screen, improved design, and controllers that are different from the original. There’s no need to go in-depth as most people and consumers who what it really brings to the table. That said, the Nintendo Switch 2 was initially rumored to arrive in Malaysia sometime in September 2025. However, things have changed and SIRIM, has finally approved the device for Malaysia Market.

Starting from July 3, 2025, you can officially purchase the handheld in Malaysia, making it unnecessary to opt for the Hong Kong Set or a different imported set. On the website, it mentions that there will be a Nintendo Switch 2 with Mario Kart World Bundle – which is a proper physical cartridge as opposed to the digital code which comes with the Hong Kong set – which I urge you not to purchase for now.

For the Malaysian market, the pricing is a little steeper than the imported sets we have seen so far, but all the more reasons to get the officially available Malaysian set, as it gives you the fuss-free experience for warranty and so much more. Console aside, what appears to be a wallet killer are the price of the games ranging anywhere from RM 165 for remasters and new titles made for Switch 2 priced as high as RM 398.

A tough pill to swallow after all.

Update: Nintendo Malaysia has shared the pricing on the new Switch 2 and it’s higher than expected – with the console only priced at RM 2,488 and the Mario Kart Bundle priced at RM 2,688.
