July 9th is the Date and we are going to see a whole lot of Galaxy Z Flips and Fold announced during then and while we all know that, there will be a Z Fold Ultra for the first time – this also marks the first time ever for a Fan Edition and that will be the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE. What we know about it is pretty scarce, but based on the leaks, we can gather some insights into what to expect.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE Leak
Fan Edition is Samsung’s way of saying, “Hey, we have a phone for the first timers who’d like to experience what Samsung offers, but at a more obtainable price for the masses.” And it has always been that way – we have seen the Note FE and the more prominent S Series FE. But from the looks of it, with the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE rumours, we may or may not see an S25 FE – but that’s a story for another day.
Based on these renders and Leaks, provided by our trusted source Evan Blass, we are looking at the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE taking the same form as the Z Flip 6, which makes sense because Samsung does reuse or recycle some components, making it more justifiable from a price standpoint. But for the most part, you won’t be missing out on a lot – there are 2 cameras situated below the cover display and speaking of the cover display, it still has the same 3.4” display. The main display too looks the same at 6.6”.
What remains a mystery is the hardware – we should either get an Exynos processor, which is the rite of passage for any Fan Edition smartphone, or it could get an older Snapdragon. The camera might get a bump down to a 12MP setup, instead of the more powerful 50MP sensor we found last year. And the battery should hopefully be the same, and perhaps the glass back might get replaced with a plastic back.
With all these specifications, which we could only speculate – I still do hope that this becomes the most affordable Flip phone we can find in Malaysia. While this doesn’t matter in the US and markets where the Moto Razr fairly holds a strong spot, we just have to wait and see.
