The Swedish automaker has so many things to be proud of. Being the safest car a passenger can be in and offering amazing comfort and luxury, Volvo has been great at what they do and with 2.7 million cars sold, the Volvo XC60 takes the title for the all-time best-selling Volvo in the whole wide world.
Volvo XC60 Best Selling Volvo of All Time
In case you didn’t know, Volvo X60 made its debut in 2008 as a mid-size SUV, and since then, it’s a car that has gotten the attention of many – for its really impressive value, safety, quality and the premium experience Volvos are known for. According to Volvo, many people who grew up with the Volvo 240 went on to purchase the Volvo XC60, which is something the brand should be proud of. I guess, Patek Philippe isn’t the only thing you pass down through generations.
That said, from building exclusively in Europe, they ventured out and the XC60 became the first global Volvo model to be produced in China, which then became the World Car of the Year in 2018. Since then, the car has evolved in the right direction – from being a pure ICE to a plug-in hybrid – which also set the mark as the best-selling plug-in hybrid in Europe.
On top of that, we have seen a bunch of new technologies included inside the car for the first time too – City Safety, the world’s first standard low-speed automatic emergency braking system to avoid collision in the 30kmph speed range and Oncoming Lane Mitigation, which steers you into your lane if you drift into oncoming traffic. We experienced all of these when we reviewed the XC60.
Volvo isn’t stopping here, and they are going to bring some amazing technology soon and will continue to innovate in the automotive industry.
