Xiaomi Malaysia has been expanding their ecosystem products for a while now, and this time around, the brand has been making some strong moves by launching its air conditioner and this time it’s their new Mijia Refrigerator Cross Door 510L – here’s what you need to know about it.

Unlike most of their products available locally, the Mijia Refrigerator Cross Door 510L is branded as Mijia instead of Xiaomi, as a way to consolidate their home appliances together. That said, the Mijia Refrigerator Cross Door 510L has some interesting going on as we got to check it out briefly during their quick Ecosystem tour. For starters, the 4-door fridge is designed in a way that it blends well in any kind of kitchen with its matte-frosted finished texture that’s fingerprint resistant. An absolute music to the ears.

Upon opening the top side, you have compartments just like any fridges you could find in the market, but given how Xiaomi takes pride in incorporating Smart features into it, the labelled zones have their separate temperature controls. The iFresh zone allows you to adjust temperatures from -1 degree Celsius to 5 degrees Celsius, to ensure that your meats, vegetables and fruits can stay fresh. Apart from that, you have three quick modes to control the temperatures: Auto, Super Cool and Super Freeze.

The entire fridge uses Ag+ Fresh technology, which is an anti-bacterial silver ion module which works in the compartments for odour control, absorbing unwanted smells to keep things healthy. If you want specific numbers, you are looking at 99.99% Bacteria removal efficiency, 97.9% Thimethylamine removal efficiency and 98.8% Methyl mercaptan removal efficiency.

On the bottom, you have the freezer zone – with 2 easy access trays and 4 drawers – which can keep enough frozen food for you to even host a party or for yourself. It can hold up to 178L of items – perfect for large families. On top, you are looking at 303L for a sizable Fridge Zone and 29L iFresh Convertible Zone.

Now onto the in-app experience – most of these temperature controls and such can be controlled natively on the fridge, especially for users who don’t want to fiddle with an app. But if the need arises, with the help of the Mi Home app, you can control all the temperatures, Super Freezes and so on – a good thing to have, especially when you have perishables in the fridge while you are away on a trip.

As for warranty, Xiaomi Malaysia is offering a general 2-year warranty and a 10-year separate warranty on the Compressor. Which will all be done on site, similar to their TV and Air Conditioners. Consumers will have to just call the hotline to get it sorted.

Pricing and Availability

Xiaomi Malaysia will be selling the Mijia Refrigerator Cross Door 510L for RM 2,899, in just one configuration as we mentioned above. But for a limited duration, which Xiaomi has not disclosed to us, there will be a promotional price of RM 2,399, which makes it pretty appealing for a Smart fridge, coming from Xiaomi.

This won’t be the only big Smart Home product we will be seeing this year, as Xiaomi Malaysia hinted we will witness another launch for a different product. If it’s the front-load washing machine, well, count us in.
