Budget tablets receive a lot of attention, especially if you are looking for a device that fulfils your entertainment needs. The Redmi Pad 2 has finally arrived in Malaysia, just hours after its announcement in Thailand. Here’s what you are getting with the new budget-friendly table from Xiaomi Malaysia.

For the most part, both the Redmi Pad 2 and Redmi Pad 2 4G share the same specifications, with just the 4G SIM slot capability as the only difference between the models. Powering the tablet is the Mediatek Helios G100-Ultra processor, based on a 6nm manufacturing process and houses an option of RAM and storage configuration ranging from 4GB with 128GB, 6GB with 128GB and 8GB with 256 GB. Regardless of the variant, it comes with an expandable 2TB microSD card slot.
For the display, you are looking at an 11” 2.5K Display with a 90Hz refresh rate, which should suffice for most users. And for the speakers, you are looking at a quad speaker setup with Dolby Atmos. The entire package comes in two colours for users to choose from: Graphite Grey and Mint Green. If you do care about the camera, then you’ll find an 8MP rear and 5MP front camera.
Unlike most budget-centric tablets, Xiaomi has not left out the support for good accessories – you can purchase the Redmi Smart Pen, sold separately.

The Redmi Pad 2 will be available in four different variants:

- 4 GB+128 GB for RM 699
- 8 GB+256 GB for RM 999
- Redmi Pad 2 WiFi
- 4 GB+128 GB for RM 599 (Online Exclusive)
- 8 GB+256 GB for RM 799
