While we aren’t familiar with AKASO, it seems like they are entering to stir some interesting competition in the 360-camera space. And here in Malaysia, the brand is launching the AKASO 360 Camera – and here’s what you get with it.

AKASO 360 Camera

The AKASO 360 Camera is their second 360 camera added to their portfolio, with the first one being AKASO Keychain 2, which is their more value-for-money Action camera at around RM 798. The 360 appears to be their flagship action camera, which features hardware that lives up to one, at least on paper.

Under the hood, you will find a Dual ½” 48MP CMOS sensor with an aperture of f/2.25, which can stitch together and provide an 18MP or 72MP resolution, depending on what type of detail you are looking for. The AKASO 360 has the potential to handle 4K60 and 5.7K30 with dual lenses and 2.8K60 on a single lens setup.

Apart from that, just like any 360-degree camera, you have all the AI Tracking, Invisible Selfie stick mode, and get the Super Smooth footage you are looking to capture without worrying about the weather, as it’s weatherproof.

The camera uses a 6-axis gyroscope for stabilisation, and all of this can be controlled via the 2.29” display on the camera, or you can download the AKASO 360 Studio app, either on your smartphone or desktop. There are two bundles available for this AKASO 360. Unfortunately, the camera only does H264 and doesn’t offer any H265 encoding. So, it’s pretty decent for casual usage if you ask me.

The Standard Combo comes with: the camera, 2x Battery, Protective Pouch, USB-C Cable, Lens Cloth and a QSG. The Creator Combo bundle comes with an additional battery, a multifunctional charging case to charge all your batteries and an Invisible Selfie Stick.

Pricing and Availability

The AKASO 360 will be priced at RM 999, for the Standard Bundle and RM 1,099 for the Creator Combo. You can get it from your nearest camera authorized stores or you can head over to Shopee by clicking here. Both the cameras will come with a 1 Year Extended warranty and the Standard Combo is an Online Exclusive, in fact, you can get it for RM 899.
