If you have been following the recent Pocket Announcement that the Read-it-later service is shutting down, it is a huge hit to users who saves article to read later – in fact, I do too. But this is where you can switch to Instapaper and here’s the best part: with Instapaper Rakuten Kobo Integration, you can now read the articles you saved on your trusty Kobo.

Instapaper Rakuten Kobo Integration

On 21st July, both Instapaper and Rakuten Kobo joined forces to make this integration happen. With this integration, users can now save their articles or reading material from their favourite sites and such to the read it later service. And Kobo Users can now read those articles with no distractions on their reader. While it might sound like a simple thing, it is a pretty huge deal, as this does encourage reading habits among users who prefer to do it on an ereader instead of their daily tech devices.

With Pocket sunsetting real soon, Instapaper aims to take the baton from them and serve as the service that will help many, including myself, to save articles and keep going forward with it. In fact, at the time of writing, Pocket users can move their saved articles to Instapaper – in just two clicks, which you can do here.

The integration announced will go live at the end of Summer 2025, which could happen sometime in September. So, Only time will tell what we can expect from this team-up, which makes the world of reading a much better place.

Stay tuned.
