If there’s one thing we know about Sony is that, they are great at making products for a specific kind of users who love what they make. Despite the niche take, they have made the right impact in the market for the right reasons. But this time around, the Japanese brand has ran into a major issue with their Xperia 1 VII, which started in Japan, Hong Kong and now it’s halted globally for the time being.
Sony Xperia 1 VII Temporarily Halted

Reports from Japan, and according to GSMArena and NotebookCheck, the Sony Xperia 1 VII has been encountering issues like random shutdowns, reboots and even as far as not being able to power up at all. Immediately after the reports from users surfaced, Sony made the right move to pull the product from the store fronts in Japan, which was then followed by countries like Hong Kong and the European market, where the phones are available.
Sony has not issued any statements locally; however, with the phone to be sold in Malaysia soon, we reached out to Sony Malaysia, and they have shared that the phone will be temporarily halted until the issues are sorted. We have seen a bunch of issues like such from other brands too, and it can happen to anyone. After all, the Samsung Galaxy Note7 disaster comes to mind when you think about it.
So, this preventive measure that’s taken immediately, in less than a month, is a good sign that Sony is taking matters seriously and is looking into fixing it as soon as possible. In the meantime, we can only wait and hope that the Xperia 1 VII comes back stronger and hopefully in our hands for review.
