When you look at the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE, or the Fan Edition smartphones from Samsung in general, and expect it to be this hardware spec-king of sorts, you are looking at it all wrong. In our past reviews, we have always said, this particular series gives a taste of what the flagship smartphones could offer – and that’s a good thing. This time, though the change isn’t major, it does have the right intention in its mind by opting for a slightly premium-esque experience. We are going to share all about that in this Samsung Galaxy S25 FE Impressions.
Samsung Galaxy S25 FE Impressions
Hardware-wise: We have 5 Changes
Improved Build

The Samsung Galaxy S25 FE gets an improved build and finish, which you cannot notice on its own, but put it side-by-side with the S24 FE – that’s when it all comes to light. Thanks to our good friend, Emmanuel, who had his S24 FE – shared the phone, and we noticed a lot of things that made sense. For one, the phone is now 8% thinner, coming at 7.4mm and weighs 11% lighter at 190g. Now, the frame of the phone is the same as the S25 and S25+, and that’s the Enhanced Armor Aluminium.

On the glass part, we get a bump to the better Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+, which in my opinion, is truly a welcoming change. On the back, you now have a matte finish, which I am in love with, and this should have happened with last year’s S24 FE, to be frank. And hey! They listened, and got the bezels of the phones to be truly slim, so now it doesn’t look like the A Series – no offence.
Improved Front-Facing Camera

While the rear-triple-camera setup remains the same – and that’s the 12MP Ultrawide, 50MP Main sensor and 8MP Telephoto at 3x – the front camera got a bump to 12MP, which is a nice change, and if you do take loads of selfies and wefies, then this camera would easily be better.
Faster Charging, Bigger Battery and Qi2?!

This one is funny for me because I immediately looked at the Z Flip 7 and laughed – but jokes all aside, the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE now gets the faster 45W Charging speed with a slightly bigger 4900mAh battery and even supports Qi2 Standards with 15W wireless charging. But you know what, I am very happy for people who want a taste of the true flagship at this price point, and it’s mind-boggling to me.
Processor and Configuration

Last year, the S24 FE had the Exynos 2400e, which, to be honest, is really a lite version of the 2400 – but it wasn’t bad because it did put up a great show. This year, you do get an upgrade – well, kind of. Because the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE uses the Exynos 2400, the flagship processor from the S24 Series, it is a little over a year old, but you are getting a prim and proper flagship taste in the performance for the first time. Because of this, they have increased the Vapour Chamber Cooling by 10% for better thermals.
Storage-wise, the more widely available variants – in Malaysia at least- will be 256GB and 512GB – they do have a 128GB version, which will be available in select countries and in limited quantities.
Of course, the Software

Powering this phone is the newer OneUI 8 – which is not even available in other Samsung phones just yet – so, we are excited to try this one out. And this time, Samsung isn’t omitting any of the AI features you see in their flagships over here. You get the full suite of Galaxy AI, which we will still check if it is really the full suite, but they did mention in their brief that the phone will support – and quote “Multimodal capabilities, Now Bar, Now Brief” and so on.
Honestly
This time it feels like Samsung focused more on the Brawn of the phone than the Brains of the phone – but of course, you have a good bunch of improvements in the latter too. By the time you watch our video or read our article, we will have gotten our phone in for review already – so, we are super excited to share what this Fan Edition smartphone is about to bring to the table. Because, as a Samsung Galaxy S FE series fan, I am truly rooting for this phone a lot.
